Make a ramp that uses the 2x1x1 slopes to sit flat with the ground, using hinges. Use armor plates along the top so it sits nice and flush with the floor behind it when raised. You and the small rover should both be able to use it

Since you named the Scarab the Scarab You should put the solar pannels towards the back and have them be the "Wings" of the scarab and have them reactractable and fold out to the left and right of the rover like a scarab or a bettle. (Love the vids by the way keep up the great work you two!!)

I've used this idea and it's great with something big like your rover. It's hard to get out of fights once started. My adition is with isy you can set it to have everything you need in a cargo container to start from bare bones. So your not stuck with nothing. But again great idea.

dude you really need to make those lights to turn off and get folded upwards ( in the daytime maybe ? ) and for the khepri how about you make it "DEPLOYABLE" ? like it sticks to scarab from down and when you need it it gets deployed, maybe try achieving this by using magnets ? and to "re-design" the khepri to be fit for it, and about docking it maybe an elevator that connects it to a connector !

In ep 7 he makes a comment about this. I think it's great it puts them out of the way and saves power, once it's dark the turn on and go back into place. I'm just not sure if there is a script for this.

Two hinges and a piston. Make a platform to stand on with an arme on it. You rotate the arme down but have a roter as a "wrist" to keep the platform setting the right way up. When it un folds downwerd you have the piston move to the ground level the rest of the way. Then you have a lift for you that unfolds and looks cool but can even put you on the ground level even when over a dip.

If you're fully dead set on doing the lyft or ramp as a contraption like you were trying, maybe sacrifice something to Klang from all I've seen. They tend not to like those particular designs, so apeacement might be necessary. An alternative would be a solid single rotor ramp near the back of the scarab

For the lift I’d recommend having it above the level you want to raise to and have it offset making an L shape with the floor so you can extend it and retract without worrying about ground interference, if that doesn’t work just build a ramp or ladder

If you havmt done so already I suggest putting an event controller setup to turn your H2 engines off when you have enough power stored so you don't waste hydrogen when you're away from the ice lake

A few things. 1: "Large Grid 5051" is the name of the subgrid that is docked to the station. It's really stupid and convoluted, but that's just how it is in game. 2: It's funny how your sleep deprived brain is overthinking the whole elevator thing. You don't actually need two elevators, one's enough. If you really REALLY want a secondary access for the me(pri), just use a ladder. It's simpler and won't incite the wrath of clang if something goes hilariously wrong.

With the Scarab being the mother-rover and the small one being the Khepri, you've got a bug theme going, so I'm thinking if you make a high speed rover that docks to the Scarab eventually for whatever reason, it should be the Skitter and if you make a builder rover, name it the Weaver. So with your "stacked plates on hinges" idea, why not make the "floor" of each level out of 3 pistons side-by-side. Then you can unfold the hinges and extend out to the ground, walking on the piston backs as you do so. You would probably need a solid block to attach them to at either end, though.

Elevator idea rocket pad that somehow can’t move in x or y just z (up and down). Little 2x4 pad with 2 rockets on bottom and 2 on top that shoot off to move up or down and to slow the fall then once at top magnet pad. VERY OVERKILL most likely won’t work and will blow up.🤣
