The south and east europeans started to come in larger droves from 1900 on.. the Germans and Irish are still the 1 and 2nd largest ancestry in US. This was just immigrants per year

​@@taceyhit's not per year that would mean nearly 60 million emigrated from Ireland, probably is the number living there that we're not registered as born there it will decline naturally with age plus Ireland became independent in 1921 so for a time people stopped leaving but started again in the 1950s and 1980s and in 2009 to 2014 ,these are the main emigration patterns leaving here,if nobody left for the states today's population would be 25 million it's 5 today,the 25 million includes the total world diaspora not only the US

They stopped coming in larger droves because the Irish got their own country in the 1900s and thus were not persecuted as much.

He enters on a non immigrant visa (tourist, student, temporary worker, fiancee, etc) and changes status to immigrant ​@@reformed_attempt_1
