Many thanks. The tuning of the mandora/gallichone main six courses is basically the same as the six string guitar, only in this case, the string length being 72 cms, the pitch is d' rather than e'. The 7th course on this instrument is tuned a tone lower than the 6th. This mandora can also be strung with 8 single strings at a higher tension than double strung. The tuning is the same, the 8th being a C, a tone lower than the 7th. Best wishes.
