A good lesson to learn with RPGs, and even with real life as well, sometimes you can't save everyone.

Don't overly worry about "right/wrong order". The game is literally designed to let you handle its content as it comes at you. If necessary, it will give you a "hold up" warning when you're about to hit a key moment of the story, and make sure to ask if you don't wanna do other stuff first. Otherwise, there's no "right" or "wrong" order, only what you feel you should do depending on the situation and opportunity. Actually, taking care of some stuff before another can very often kill two birds with one stone, and the game obviously adapts to that ♥.

Jaheira is a bad-ass who's been there as a companion since the very first Badur's Gate game (and she's always been in my party in all my runs of BG 1&2). When she says she knows Bhaal very well, she's not capping. Her story and feats are absolutely legendary, equally heroic and tragic. Look her up and get a little summary of everything she's been through, it's well worth understanding the living legend she actually is! And no spoiler, of course, but just a little hint: there's another legend from the first two games appearing in act 3.

1:00:26 you just witnessed the secret sauce that makes the paladin one of the highest damage dealers in the game, divine smite. Even though paladins have spells, most of the time you'd want to save the spell slots for divine smites to deal massive damage, or use the other smite spells to do slightly less damage but also apply debuffs. Since they get less spell slots than other spellcasters, and recover them until a long rest, it is a good strategy to leave your paladin in camp and only pick them up for whenever you know a big fight is coming to have all of their smites available for that insane damage.

Really enjoyed watching you work your way through the game. I'm seeing so many different dialogs, avenues and outcomes. The game is amazing. But like you, I can never do an Evil Run so far. I tried as a Redeemed Dark Urge just once, and I could only last 2 hours as that character. But I bet you would play a great redeemed dark urge run.
