I cannot help but think of SO MANY jazz/fusion/prog musicians (especially certain drummers), who INTENTIONALLY go on technical journeys to obfuscate things in "cool ways". In the end, it means very little and alienates everyone but the most technical among the audience.

So relaxing,,, I fall asleep on the couch late at night, listening to this type of music on the jazz channel on tv,,, for me it's the best thing to switch my mind off or wind down ,,, as a drummer,, myself, I don't play jazz and didn't really like it. I guess I never understood it properly when I was growing up . It's the messed up sound thats so perfectly timed I appreciate it very much. There's so much happening in the music ... I recommend anyone who has trouble switching off or relaxing to listen to this type of music / jazz or whatever works, well that's my thoughts, each to there own. Cheers
