If I was randy I woulda just army crawled at him 😂 boxing is a beautiful art and probably your best bet in the street as far as striking techniques go, but you have to know how to grapple to or else you’re going to get fucked up. There’s a lot of good former high school wrestlers out there who’d ruin a lot of boxers days very easily.

Sort of, However Randy Couture is extremely smart for going for that low single. Couture had enough respect for professional boxers that he went no where near the boxing game. If it would have been a UFC fighter that didn't respect professional boxing and wanted to stand and bang then it could have went very badly.

That was the easiest fight he ever had in the octagon by far also look who Randy has fought in the octagon it was usually for a belt or defending his belt but that would have been an easy fight for almost any heavy weight in the UFC at that time they knew all they had to do was just shoot a double leg or single leg and it's over with or like Randy and do a ankle pic.

I give Toney props for doing this. He went into the MMA's home and tried to compete, unlike Jake Paul calling out retired MMA guys to come box him.

This is the closest we are going to get to boxing vs wrestling. They are the two oldest fighting styles and HUGE in USA. But even here, Randy boxed in the army and has a black belt in BOLT ; and Toney actually trained in MMA leading up to this even though he didn't use it

Respect for Toney for having the balls to step in the octagon he had to have known his chances were not good. Couture should have boxed him in a boxing ring to even the score.

Let's talk about how Randy doesn't even try to put on a show, or risk certain victory, by not trading under any circumstances and immediately going for the takedown. It speaks volumes about how respected the professional boxer is, because James never trained wrestling or jiu jitsu, but Randy would have to have at least a very good striking base, because his sport demands it. It is incredible that even with more tools and experience in MMA stand-up fighting, Randy wanted nothing to do with it. It would have been nice for Toney have a fight like Adesanya, Miocic, Costa, Poatan, Sweet Dreams and even Ngannou kinda fight style
