The man was so good, he could only be re-routed, miss directed and some may say temporarily derailed at times by powerful boxing insiders. Something that I don't know can truly be said of any fighter ever, that is how good James Toney is. What is strange is that in all the times in history for boxing insiders to get away with it. During the intense globalization periods of the mid 90's into the 2000s in media, news, internet and all of the ways to be in touch, interact, be involved in one way or another as people, being able to see the facts for ourselves all the time and being so close to the information. Sure there have been fighters blackballed, shut down and taken out of the game by powerful boxing insiders but never proven all time greats. Sure many greats have faced adversity, corruption, greed, politics and oppression but to be completely honest; few have faced that coming from inside the boxing world itself. I truly know that no one has faced that to the extent and depth of which James Toney has through his entire career.
