Doc’s voice didn’t always sound like that - after he became a coach, shouting instructions to players caused him to get nodes on his vocal chords. I’m pretty sure he had to have surgery, and his voice was permanently damaged. But I really like his raspiness.

That last play against Washington was actually Bird's 3rd last second shot in that game, in OT. 1st one was the one called off because of the TO, after that he got a 2-pointer to tie the game, from the center, slight below the 3-pt-line (obviously off one foot); the last one was the one you saw there XD

Just so you know the full context when you use the term, "being in the torture chamber" originally meant you were guarding Kevin McHale in the post. They'd get the ball to Kevin in the post on an isolation play and the announcers would say "Kevin has him in the torture chamber again."

Great video. Ever hear of Pistol Pete Maravich? Some say he was better than Bird as a shooter and ball handler. Maravich retired from the Celtics one year before Bird joined. Magic commented that he stole moves from Maravich. Pistol Pete was doing moves that Bird, Magic, Mj, etc did back in the 70s and 80s. I think you will enjoy watch what the legends say about Pistol Pete Maravich.
