That Jamal Mashburn story never gets old. LOL. An old and injured Bird backing up his trash talk. LOL.

He had to have felt like he was 4ft tall. 😂 and he told him ,then did it 8Xs in a row. Larry dished him up a huge slice of humble pie. 😂 would not want to have been him. After that practice. He even got the welcome to the parachute club, rookie.😂😅😂

I loved this era of Basketball. I fell in love with the game when I saw what Dr. J brought. He is still the man. These legends will be known like Babe Ruth...100 years later...a well known name. It's been a great life I've had!

Ive heard all these 100 times. My favorites are the jamal mashburn and the one with james worthy talking about holding birds jersey. Its like when you have an uncle tell a story that always makes everyone laugh no matter how many times you heard it

That game was the coach's way of teaching the Dream Team players a lesson. The players were all in their egos, not playing as a team.

It’s true that Chuck D. intentionally threw that first game because the Dream Team players, up until that point, weren’t taking their job seriously and they were more interested in being accommodating to each other so as not to step on each other’s ego…so Chuck Dailey said enough of this garbage and decided to serve up some humble pie…Chuck didn’t make any player adjustments, didn’t substitute out players and just let the crash happen…also, Chuck didn’t allow MJ to play for more than a few minutes…it was a master class in how to manage so many superstar egos and teach them how to play as a TEAM…. It’s facts!👍🎤🔥

One of the greatest coach's of the game(Pat Riley)once said "If I have to choose a player to take a shot to save a game I'd choose Michael Jordan...If I have to choose a player to take a shot to save my life... I'd take Larry Bird!". Bird was a masterful basketball player. His game is ageless. And in top of that, he is the best trash talker in the history of the game and beyond but he baked up each and every time. To me, he is the Muhammed Ali of basketball.

Dailey subbed the game in such a way and with certain matchups that he knew would make it tough on the dream team. He wanted them mad and aggressive. When asked if he did it on purpose, he didn't answer.... he just grinned.

Did the coach let the college guys win? ABSOLUTELY! Look, the Dream Team was a bunch of stars and Super Stars, individually playing WITH other NBA stars. Daley knew that he had a bunch of "EGO" problems on the court and he was correct! At first, all of these high octane players were playing to show off to the other players instead of trying to develop a "Team Attitude". Daley's plan was basically a "SHOCK" treatment. (paraphrase) "You all think you are so hot that you don't have to take this serious? You will be competing with the best players in the world! Lets' see how you fare against some college kids!" Getting their butts kicked by the college kids is what sucked all of the EGO out of the room and they saw the light! It was a brilliant strategy on the part of the coach! Simply BRILLIANT!

Got to watch the Dream Team story. Dream Team wasn’t playing Jordan that much. And not adjusting. So the College boys looked good. Chris Webber is good but when he has the Mailman, Chuck, Patrick and Robinson inside after adjustments made, they were not running and gunning anymore.

Oh Rodney, oh Rodney............what were you thinking? Larry Legend was at the end of his career and the stories from many Hall of Famers was well known in the basketball community. I guess that Rodney was like many youngsters that feel invincible and the best thing since sliced bread. I wonder how you felt after Larry Legend extended you an invitation back to the real world! The Legend is still considered the greatest trash talker in NBA history, and he was just an assassin on the court. Don't believe me? Go find video of one of the best defenders ever, Gary "The Glove" Payton and listen to the respect that he has for the Legend. And I don't care about your age and your opinions about the players from the era you grew up watching and how their athleticism is unmatched. The Dream Team was a collection of Hall of Fame NBA players that truly only had one goal when it came to basketball - WINNING! The were also unselfish, competitive, talented in all phases of the game, about as physical as hockey players, and ruthless to anyone foolish enough to challenge them.

In reality Bird, like Jokic and Donic was a great player but waayyy over hyped. For you to say he was the greatest of all time is an example of what’s known as the Willie Lynch Syndrome. It’s ok young man. You have been thoroughly conditioned.
Young People say Larry Bird ain’t The Greatest But These NBA Players Say Different! So Who’s Wrong!
