Firefall was an event in Yosemite National Park, California that began in 1872.

Program Directors... Less than 5% are worth a damn. I was lucky enough to work with one that was better than most and the other was phenomenal (he now owns several stations).

I don't believe we really learned for sure how the album cover came about. The conversation turned to naming the band and then never went full circle back to the original question. My guess is the album cover was the band's visual interpretation of the band's name. Although the answer could be the record label selected the visual. It's tough for Larry to recall or even know the answer to some of these questions that go back 40+ years.

Actually Yosemite had or still has a tradition of pushing fire off a cliff which they called Fire falls
