August 4, 2019 - Larry Burnett was half of the singer/songwriter team for most of Firefall's first five albums until he left to get clean in the early '80s. He shares the details.

John Beaudin has been in major market radio (Edmonton, Vancouver & Calgary) for 35 years and a music journalist since 1989. He graduated from Broadcasting school as a newsman so he would have the skills to write about the artists that inspired him since he bought his first album, “Madman Across The Water” by Elton John as a teen. In the '80s Beaudin was the host of the syndicated radio show “The Cross Canada Report” which had two versions (Rock and A/C). Beaudin was also asked to be a judge at the Juno Awards (Canada's answer to the Grammys) Twice. He has anchored every position in radio including morning and afternoon drive and was a Program and Music Director for The Breeze and California 103 in Calgary. He currently hosts the popular Lovesongs at QM-FM in Vancouver and on iHeartRadio.

Was a big fan of Firefall and loved their early hits. Sad whenever I hear that drugs broke up great bands and destroyed lives. Happy to hear that Burnett got help and is still around to tell us his story and perform his music.

I admire an artist more when they state a song is not about anything special in their life or they simply can't remember. Too many times we have seen artists make up stories & nothing is worse than dishonesty between an artist and the fans. The story of how a song impacted my life is the only story that really matters. And Larry, you have been a major part of my life story and I thank you..

It’s funny how when I think drug problems in the music business I never think of these kinds of bands. A misconception of the harder the music the harder the lifestyle. Addiction isn’t limited to any genre. John I’ve never given you credit for the video editing and the plethora of pics that circulate during these interviews. It adds so much! Who owns the rights to the name Firefall? Sad to say, as much as people like their songs, that's one of those bands, you may not recognize the individual.... just my thoughts anyways. A version of the band is touring now with Orleans.
