Jerry Seinfeld always gets credit for the show Seinfeld, but I think the more we learn about Larry David, the more we realize he was probably the genius.

why there must be only one genius and not actually teamwork? The Seinfeld series was a work that involved many people including an entire cast of actors.

@@realisticthinking3490 they improved a lot, yes. But Larry David is a very self-centered guy, and he was the one himself, mostly, who decided what each episode is based on.

to be fair, LD only really gets going when he riffs off someone, his standup was never really successful, it was only when he riffs with seinfeld or improvises on curb that real magic shines.
@blueblur2273
@blueblur2273 Жыл бұрын
@@mishagermanovich Seinfeld has said many times in interviews that Larry David was the brains of the operation and wrote most of the show. Larry would write the dialogue and the episode's story. Then he would take it to Seinfeld where they would review it together and Seinfeld would edit things pertaining to his character or agree or disagree with jokes or any element of the script that worked or didn't work. Either way this is not much different from any other stand up comedian around that time that got their own show. Cosby, Rosanne, Tim Allen and Martin Lawrence all didn't write their own shows. They had writers that wrote to their styles to which they would then go over it and decide on whether or not the script worked.

Larry David was a stand up comic before he started writing, he got into writing so he didn't have to do it anymore. He was also loved by other stand up comics for his balls when it came to doing his shows, including walking out on them because he knew the audience wasn't right for him.

Crazy he’s flow is so close to Jerry’s, just more amped. The cadence is so similar no wonder David and Jerry worked so well together

He was actually Frank Constanza's lawyer. I love it when George says, "What was a man in a cape doing with my father?....What was my father doing with a man in a cape?!"
