@@giomachaberidze7316 I believe you misunderstood my "why?" question. I was stating why this interview happened. It's because people like the original poster watch it. The "why?" wasn't in reference to Chapman's motive. In fact, Chapman killed Lennon because he thought that the ex-Beatle was a fraud. Read THE CATCHER IN THE RYE. Not justifying what Chapman did, just saying this was where his mind was.

I don't think Chapman is the least bit remorseful about killing Lennon. He got exactly what he wanted. His name will always be associated with John's, for the rest of time. If he had the opportunity to go back in time and NOT shoot Lennon that night, and not be arrested and imprisoned for killing him, I guarantee he would not take it. That would take away his fame and notoriety and, in his mind, he would still be an unknown nobody instead of someone important (in his mind). No way he would do that.

88Katiem he took an idol and father figure away from millions of people. Including Me. I always felt a special connection to John Lennon more than any one else in the Beatles. He was truly special. Through out his whole life, he was an outsider who was told he would be nothing. He lost his mom and best friend stu within a few years a part.
