I got to see Run The Jewels and Rage Against the Machine in Ottawa (Canada) on the next show after Zack tore his ACL. He was also carried out, and I don't think I have been to such an amazing concert ever. Zack's energy on stage (even in pain and sitting on a monitor) was astounding and he never sat still. KZbin, IG, TikTok, none of these things are here to support "you" (the creator). They support themselves. The only thing youtube is interested in is growing their platform. Whether or not you make money is largely irrelevant to them cause where else are you gonna go to do this stuff and get as big an audience. KZbin is the new medium for the starving artist: someone busting their ass well over 40hours a week, for very little reward, in the hopes that they'll catch their "big break" someday. Then when you do "make it" youtube is no longer worth your time because it doesn't make money. Unfortunately for Larry, idk how else he could grow product sales w/o youtube. I see his FB ads, but I was buying AMMO stuff long before I saw his ads on FB. To anyone else scrolling on social media it's like "oh, here's yet another car washing product. Wait, it's more expensive than Chemical guys and I have to pay $10 shipping no matter what the order is?" And they're out. Frankly, I'm surprised companies buy ad space within ppl's videos considering we can just FF. Like, wasn't the whole point of Tivo to FF through the commercials, and that shit came out in 1999! Now we're back doing the same thing on the internet. No ads --> ads --> adblockers --> ads in video that we can FF through. Mobile is a different story.
