I really appreciate that Buck. Currently working on a video about David Goggins.

To me, it sounds like it isn’t his fault. But he should still know better. I see parallel lines between this and riding motorcycles. When you ride with someone less experienced you should always have the “don’t try to keep up” chat and ride slower than normal. Or follow instead of lead. I’m sure he is a good dude but some awareness and compassion would prevent a lot of injuries.

Such a great comparison! Most of these lifters feel the need to outperform themselves around Larry for whatever reason. The complicated part is that they are also elite lifters, but for some reason gets pushed even harder with Larry. However, Larry is built to do what most folks simply cannot due to genetics, so the “don’t keep up” chat is completely valid even if it hurts their egos. On the other hand, injuries do make for viral videos.

I agree! With the authority he has, he has some responsibility to have a leveled talk before lifting with these folks.

These are all people who were motivated but werent paying better attention to why these things happen and that it could have happened when they did. This isnt anybodys fault other than themselves. Dont get it twisted, nobody can see from the outside what you're supposed to feel on the inside.

So you are telling me Larry Wheels is a shitty spotter and should put his hands under the bar and not over it? I agree
@wickywills5 ай бұрын
As the one being spotted, you usually tell the spotter how you want to be spotted. The guy on the bench was repping fast - you don't hold your hands under the bar for that. If it was for a 1-3 rep heavy/slow max, you'd do a mixed grip spot.

He isn't doing it on purpose he trying to help these guys and these guys are pushing to hard to impress him. I think Larry is a powerlifter and a bodybuilder not a personal trainer.

He is a power lifter and bodybuilder, but I would still want to make sure my friends aren’t going to hurt themselves.
