Joel Osteen is being talked down to and he is trying to remain peaceful. Joel Osteen, I believe, actually cared for Larry more than Larry cared for himself. Caring for Larry was Joel Osteen’s cross to carry at that moment. Joel never went to seminary but he listened and obeyed his father, for all his life. King David loved and obeyed his father, he was blessed by God. People are mad because Joel is “not man enough,” but the Pharisees (like Steve Lawson from “Grace” Church Sun Valley) tried to corner Jesus many times and Jesus never gave them what they wanted. The Pharisees were not hungry for the truth, they wanted controversy. I believe that Joel Osteen is representing God’s Grace. After all, it was not our goodness that saved us, but it was God’s Grace. You answered your own question. He's a motivational speaker, not a pastor. Jesus Christ was not open-minded and inclusive. His message was not inviting. He said "I am God, I am the truth. Repent and follow Me or you will perish in the lake of fire." Being God, He knew more than anyone how dire the situation was. He preached true repentance. Joel Osteen does not. Bro. Joel's sermons helped me so much when I was sick, & it looked like I wasn't going to make it. I had been a Christian for a long time. I used to think it was my job to tear down other Christians because they were different than me. That kind of critical Christianity won't help you when you when you're critically sick & not expected to live. Only a message of love will rescue you. He was only saying on what he normally does as a pastor. In Ephesians 4:11-22 it says, "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ," It doesn't mean he's not for revivals, he simply means he's not into conducting revivals. He's a pastor, that means his job is more of ministering to people who are already saved, who had already been revived, to keep them in their walk with God. God appoints some people like Billy Graham to be evangelists to bring in those who are unsaved through revivals while He appoints some to be pastors to care for those who are already saved

Pretty eye-opening. First of all, I think he just doesn't want to offend. Him not wanting to preach the bad with the good is a problem. I like him and before I became more versed in the Bible, he was a great listen. He needed to be stronger here as I really believe that Larry made agnotism more relevant. I have believed in God all my life. The only mistake Joel Osteen made here was to get interviewed by a man who did not care about Joel Osteen. Not even Jesus would have sat in front of this man because it would have been foolish. Larry had an agenda, Larry was not searching for the truth. Joel Osteen is being talked down to and he is trying to remain peaceful. Joel Osteen, I believe, actually cared for Larry more than Larry cared for himself. Caring for Larry was Joel Osteen’s cross to carry at that moment. Joel never went to seminary but he listened and obeyed his father, for all his life. King David loved and obeyed his father, he was blessed by God. People are mad because Joel is “not man enough,” but the Pharisees (like Steve Lawson from “Grace” Church Sun Valley) tried to corner Jesus many times and Jesus never gave them what they wanted. The Pharisees were not hungry for the truth, they wanted controversy. I believe that Joel Osteen is representing God’s Grace. After all, it was not our goodness that saved us, but it was God’s Grace. He dont know what being born again is and he don't even know what that means. The fruit that this man Bears has spoiled. Because I, am here to tell you now if you think, that you can get to heaven without having Jesus, in your heart,and asking him and confessing with your mouth,"that he is your personal savior and Heavenly GOD knowing this with your heart, being true to him asking for forgiveness on a daily and you will go to heaven. If you think COVID is bad wait till the Rapture of the church! Ppl will be literally be lost beyond belif.

@@Cwyte2oh5 , like I wrote earlier... it is for God to judge. What this Matthew 7 vs 15 - 20 says; is to watch out and be careful. (Not for you to Judge them). God will at verse 19. 'cut them down' (and judge them). Hence, it is not your job. Luke 6 vs 37 says you shouldn't judge, so you won't be judged yourself. Or are you a Pharisee? Nor do you choose and pick which of the scriptures to obey?

I have studied scripture for many years and God through Joel has opened my understanding for a number of things that had been unclear. At EVERY service Joel gives an invitation for any and all to repent and accept Christ Jesus. He is one of the most faith based (NOT prosperity based as his many critic say) preachers I have ever heard. Jesus said love one another and don't judge each other and Joel certainly is a great example that.
