@@richarda3659 All automakers want to make safe cars, sure, but even though virtually all cars are very safe today, Tesla still updates their car designs much more often than legacy automakers (because Tesla is much more vertically integrated) and have a higher degree of crash data than what I expect most legacy automakers have. I know legacy automakers also collect crash data silently too, but I'm not sure it's as detailed or to similar degree. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if many automakers specifically design their safety for the official crash tests, rather than for statistical data of real life crashes.

@Ample17 Жыл бұрын
Why would they do the work for their competition?
@cybergigafactory Жыл бұрын
@@Ample17 Thats a valid criticism. But they have opened most of their patents to their competition as well. The only metric that counts for Tesla is "Pace of Innovation". IMO they could show every detail of their current cars, because in a month/year or so, it would be changed again to be better than before. The mission of Tesla is, to "accelerate the transition to sustainable transport" and they should help everyone who wants to build safer cars, in the case of this video. And also help them to build better electric cars for the acceleration of the transition. The competition cant copy much without their culture and vertical integration. Sure, as a capitalistic investor, it would be much better to hold everything closed up like everyone else does it but maybe this is a great rolemodel for new companies to build a better world for all of us, not only shareholders of a company. As an investor in Tesla I am not worried at all. Maybe if any OEM or startup would write their own OS for their factories and/or they would test all their cars like Tesla does and makes changes daily even possible. But I dont see that for now.

One time I was in “track mode “ and I attempted to be cool at a stop sign 🛑 . From a stop i went full throttle and turned right . My lack of talent could not control instant 500hp + instant TQ so the vehicle 🚗 basically drifted sideways, went over a curb head on , into the bushes right in front of a farmers market. Although extremely embarrassing (I deleted the dash cam footage) I was most impressed by how the model 3P took a full on beating from a curb. Nothing happened to the suspension/subframe at all. The suspension had so much uptravel , it just soaked up the curb. The only damage was the plastic skid plate lost some chunks and the sway bar bracket had scuff marks. I later retrieved the plastic skid plate parts in the bushes in front of the farmers market (after they had closed later that night , in order to avoid embarrassment). Point is , most impressive tesla . Well made.
