Chet we used to do the same thing but we would take a piece of metal post and making adapter to connect our hose then take a hammer and beat the end of the metal pipe more flat it builds pressure and gives you a lot more pressure. It will really surprise you how much more pressure.

You need a 1500 gallon+ cistern and multistage booster pump and build a wash down system. As you have found the gpm cleans faster than pressure and those trash pumps are not designed for back pressure or have a bypass for when off trigger!

There's a business that sells the kit to link two pressure washers together for double the flow. 8 to 10 gpm is what I have used to cut ash rock and coal from the dozers, loaders, and dump trucks at the power plant. A rotary nozzle will also save time.

Friction loss in the hose is causing less pressure at the nozzle. You can't stop the friction loss in the hose so keep the hose length as short as possible. As suggested by others, fabricating some sort of straight tip or pipe on the end with a smaller orifice will in crease the pressure but reduce the amount of volume but definitely worth a try. That present nozzle is just not giving you the type of stream you need.

Pressure is Pressure if the pump only makes 50 psi swedging it down at the end will only reduce the volume. You need volume to hammer at the mud but you need minimum 80 to 150psi. That is where the fire pump differs from a trash pump.

First off, watching Dougo diggin' dirt talking to himself since he became a chatter box is never boring. Secondly, the corner pig barn sure came out awesome and handy it seems. Blasting water to clean out frozen muck level mud in below freezing weather is pretty much worse than pulling ones teeth using a string and a door 3 Stooges style. Thank God I live in Miami after growing up in Michigan. Never again having to shovel snow outta my driveway twice after the snowplow has gone by and negated my first shoveling while freezing my tookie tookie off getting me all sweaty in my 4 layers of clothes and having to take another shower before I can go to work.

I’m never gonna complain about washing my car again! Once when I was 16, I took my Dad’s Land Cruiser mud bogging and when I pulled it between two trees on an embankment to hose off the mud, it slid sideways right into one of the trees when I tried to back it out and dented the drivers door. This reminded me of that fateful day! Great video as always, Chet!

Chet you are a hard charger, get done what needs to be done. Kudos! You definitely need a little more pressure for this job. But on a side note watch out that you do not start washing out all the bearings. To much pressire can take out even sealed for life bearings. The 3 inch pump might be the ticket to cut down the time it takes to complete the job. Time saved is money saved

Find a lake or pond, back the ripper in until its submerged, let it soak for a week then wash it off with the high pressure hose (LOL just kidding).......then grease it up good and replace all the wheel bearings.....just a thought. With what they have been through all the wheel bearings probably need to be replaced anyway.

need a submerged rack of something like railroad ties that you can drive back and forth through a foot or so of water before / while you're spraying it off - recycle the water from it endlessly with some coarse filtering media... you could put some hoses on tripods on either side. rack would let the soil / cruft settle, then lift rack out it to bobcat it clean...

Another great Larson Farms video, you guys all really have a great working relationship. Good to see you guys working to take care of your equipment so well too. As someone who worked on a wash / clean up crew - it may be worth knowing that if you hose everything down first and then come back to it, the dirt tends to come off easier as soaking it will loosen most dirt up for you. 🚜👍🇺🇸

chuckles, you will become a good cat skinner with your tracks, the ends of every day running a catapillar you grab your track shovel and get them tracks cleaned. nothing worse than the dreaded roller goin out on ya cause you were to lazy to clean your tracks after a fun muddy day. I never opperated a cat very much but learned from hauling them from skinners that was a have to do issue. yes i did help many clean their tracks. most i ever opperated a catapillar i wanted to learn and spent 3 wageless days in the artic plowing snow for rig moves we done. it was fun and i learned alot about tracks.

I’m sure something like this has been suggested, but I’ll say it anyway. Comments help the algorithm, right? Have you ever seen hydro excavation work? They use 8 to 10 gpm pressure washer pumps with heavy duty wands and “turbo tips” “wizzed tips” whatever you want to call them. I’ve used this in hard Indiana clay, blue clay and it works. This wouldn’t be cheap to build, but considering how often you have to do it, you might look into it. We built our set up onto an existing vac street sweeper we now use to hydro excavate. Bought “general pump” 8 gpm , installed mag clutch to lock it in from the engine that runs the vac and installed pulleys and plumbing. Never cleaned tracks on a quad, but I’ve been where you were wet, cold and tired. In my case, it’s water main breaks you have to fix live, usually 20 degrees or less out when it happens. God Bless, you all are a great and I thoroughly enjoy watching.
