Evidently Santa Claus thought that the Larsons (and everyone else in Minnesota) had asked for a winter struggle bus in the form of multiple tons of snow. Which shortly will turn into vast amounts of water, flooding everything. Leading to planting in June and harvest in December. Thanks Santa.

I don't know about you, but we in western Wisconsin got our planting miracle last week. It was in the upper 80's almost all week and now almost all the snow is gone. I was working up a sweat in shorts and a t-shirt. However, today it's in the 30's and we got a little snow yesterday. At least we didn't get the 12" plus that they got to the east of us.

We had a 5 days of over the average Spring weather, but Monday back to freeze and snow in Ottawa Ontario. Minnesota is pure continental weather Arctic winds blowing there with no montains to stop it. Not one year looks like the other. Last year in Minnesota was Mud Year, 2 years before Drought year. No wonder their equipment is breaking down. I am in awe about what I have learnt with this channel thanks to all, Dougo, Chet, Erik, Brodie, Amy master of moral support and hot food supplies and Toby the chaser!

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Wow. Trying to get that tillage piece of equipment out of the snow is a hard go. Really buried in there. Know you guys will get it out. Wow. You have a huge amount of snow this winter. One storm after another. Wow. You have snow piled everywhere. Planting will be late this year after all this snow melts and fields dry up. Will be an interesting spring for sure. Pushing snow takes a lot of time that is for sure. Thanks for everything Chet. hard top snow --- likely a thaw created some inches of wet snow on top, and that is now frozen solid. One year I rode my 10-speed bicycle across the fields for 3 days before it thawed; very cool having EVERYWHERE be a road!

So what fun circumstance facing should it ever meld? Do you have rain on snow events? The snow you are dealing with is wind slab. Wild slab on top an ice crystal base is what causes avalanches. Now lived in Troudale OR. for decades. We had 40 to 70 mph winds with sleet, freezing rain, and snow in varying layers in several storms over the years. I got my Tahoe high centered once and took two morning/afternoons to dig it out. I would get exhausted, in my mid 50s, dealing with the cold, wind, and blowing snow. During these events ODOT closed the I-84 through the Columbia river Gorge.

Better stock up on gravel. When this snow melts you are going to have shiz load of potholes threwout the farm and if you wait till it melts you'll pay 4 x the price for gravel. If you would have saved the peices from the blown down sylos you could have made snow huts to store the planters and sprayers in . Ya they would be exposed but the snow would not berry them
