I remember the Lion also...and the carousel of slots with the Wizard of Oz theme in the middle - it had great audio & visual effects. Can't forget the lion enclosure where you could walk in the clear tunnel underneath the lions sleeping or walking above you! Totally awesome experience to see those huge paws just inches from your face!😮

Las vegas nineteen ninety three me and my friends were in full steam. We didn't miss one summer and the nineties going to vegas.

The late 80's and early 90's were a magical time for me! I swear Vegas was more fun back then. Today, the mega corporations have taken over the entire Strip and now it's all about numbers, greed, and profit with everything being super expensive!!! Very sad! Thanks for the great video!

I moved to Vegas in 1993. The video seems like it could be from 93 except for two things. It shows the stratosphere tower which was not complete until 96 and New York New York did not open until 97. MGM and Luxor did open in 93. Luxor in October and MGM in December.

The old MGM Lion entrance was way before our time, I was a 20 year old young married man in 1993. But, I remember reading somewhere that the Chinese visitors refused to stay there or spend an single dime because they considered 'walking into the Lion's mouth' extremely bad luck, so they had to change it. Talk about powerful group economics.
