Las Vegas 3 years ago: No state taxes, affordable ($300K - $400K nice) homes. Low property taxes. Las Vegas currently: No state taxes. affordable homes went from $400K to 0ver $600K, pay more property taxes since houses cost a lot more. Schools still absolutely suck, over flowing with illegal and useless legal immigrants (costing citizens billions from all their illegal activities and hand outs). Homeless, major and petty crimes issues, DMV fee and auto insurance way too high from all the drunk driver, theft, illegals driving without insurance or registration (hit and run), low and mid paying jobs with absolute morons working in them, builder and contactor scams, Realtors lying to you so they can make higher commissions, awful traffic and drivers, Can't do a damn thing outside for 4 months, so many restaurants are over price, dirty and quality of food is average or below. Every service industry worker demanding tips and gives you attitude if don't get it.

Nice video. And of course seeing your presence makes it an interesting and enjoyable visit. Thanks for sharing One of the places I do enjoy visiting is New York New York. The casino itself is friendly and the decor has a nice vibe. We stayed there during one visit and one of the most pleasant experiences was the seating area near the Brooklyn Bridge replica. Having a cup of coffee at 6am in the area is surprisingly relaxing and you will meet really nice people who seek the same vibe. Nice energy🥰

as someone who lived/worked there, and has visited on my own since 1986, and seen it back in 1972, ive watched the rise, Rise, RISE ..and then Falllll and then Rise again, of Vegas, as well as prices. Resort fee's should be illegal.. period. not sure if the Observation Wheel would be "overhyped".. price isnt cheap, the bubble is i believe a/c'd, holds about 8 people with room to move around, lasts.. 30-40 min ?? your thoughts? the "Shot" at the top of the Stratosphere, along with the "leaner".... pricey.. and, unless you have ZERO fear of heights, you MAY end up paying for yourself and or someone else, and NOT ever riding those rides... so more of a "buyer beware you might say f*ck it and chicken out" and there are no refunds. Guy Fieri's and Gordon Ramsay eateries-- over hyped.. food is good yes,,but, the prices arent justified IMHO... try Hash House a Go Go for huge portions, great food ( maybe not exotic, but damn good ). go on "off hours" as its packed at breakfast-lunch-dinner times... i think they still exist.. Barratarias little italy ?? a famous italian restaurant where the Rat Pack used to eat at, along with hundreds of Vegas stars, "back in the day:".. ate there once.. worst food, poor service, you bought a bottle of crappy wine because it was required. never been back, never will go.. so maybe you know if its still open.. its right on one of the main roads just barely "off" the strip.. there is a "Hooters" in Vegas, across from MGM/behind Tropicana... its.. dump-ish.. the Hooters itself is small, smoke filled, and in inside the Oyo hotel.. a run down leftover of a Hooters hotel, it makes the old Imperial Palace look positively "Posh" ( you might be too young to remember the IP, it was the cheapest hotel on the strip and best location , great if you had little time to waste sleeping.. lol ).. Hooters is a waste of time and money.. food is OK.. service is OK.. not worth the effort if you are hoping its a BIG< posh, "happening" place... its not..

Living in Vegas for a year does not make one a local. . .but I am glad you stayed here and found a way to make it work for you. One advantage of the gondola ride in the Venetian, the canals are clean and do not smell like the actual canals of Venice (thankfully)

I disagree with the #1 overrated thing in Vegas. Ive eaten at a couple of those places and ocean one in particular has good food. You can get 2 breakfast or lunch items there for $11.98 and you cant even get 1 breakfast sandwich or a burger anywhere in Vegas for less then that unless you go to a franchise restaurant. Yes there are great places to eat in Vegas but for a family of 4 to go to those places i would have to get another mortgage on my house. There isnt 1 great dining experience there thst is less then $200 for a family of 4 and thats ridiculous. The baccanhal buffet is $90 a person for dinner thats $400 with tax for 4 people my first car didn't cost $400 and people rave about the food its $90 a person it should be good although Ive been to buffets that are better and cheaper. Vegas is grossly overpriced and overrated.

Glad someone called some of these out. Omega Mart is too crowded too enjoy properly. Vegas speakeasies are becoming more well known than the rest of the bars (and they are generally just bars that are bigger fire hazards). No reason to go on vacation to eat crappy food. Save your money ahead of time and spend it on something special. The only one I disagree strongly with is signature cocktails. I like having some direction when choosing a drink and I find that they are generally not much more expensive than ordering a generic cocktail that you can get at any restaurant.

I’d say unless you’re a pool person, Vegas is more enjoyable outside of summer. I’m not walking the strip in 105 degree weather lol. I just got back from Vegas last week and saw Carrot Top for a 3 time and meet/greet a second time. I was slightly disappointed as he has so many props to use and he did a lot of talking. It was almost like a farewell show. I know he’s been there 17 years and he’s 58, but he’s got way more in him than he showed.

The swimming pools are overrated. None of them have a diving board. The resort fees are so high because someone has to pay for the overpaid union lifeguards that are ready to save you from drowning in water only about 4ft. deep. Then you are offered overpriced drinks and cabanas. The pools have boot camp schedules with long lines for the morning opening. Then in the evening or afternoon right when you are starting to get relaxed, the pool help will walk around the pool hollering at people to "get out we are closed." Try to find a resort or hotel that has a swim at your own risk policy. Who needs a lifeguard when the water is only 4ft. deep? Also try to find a resort or hotel that has a pool that you can actually enjoy and relax late into the evening. And lastly if you find a hotel resort pool with a diving board, you may have entered the Twilight Zone.

myself, I have no beef with a lifeguard being a well trained professional making good wages, instead of some low grade scrub that fails when needed. You might have not considered the drinking around the pool, which could be lawsuit city without a qualified lifeguard. to answer the question about who needs a lifeguard in four feet of water, drunks, of course.

Oooooooohhh: besides casino buffets.................another thing I find highly overrated in Las Vegas.................are pool parties on the Las Vegas Strip IF your motivation in going to them is to dance. Honestly most (not all, but most) day clubs and pool parties on the Las Vegas Strip are pretty underwhelming in terms of dance floor space. The focal point of most Vegas Strip dayclubs truly has almost nothing to do with dancing. It's more about flaunting class status and marketing. The potential for a good time at these venues is still very much possible and I do make my own fun at some of them regardless, but I go into them curbing my expectation that I'm not going to be able to dance my heart out like I would at EDC or an off-Strip club.

Your channel is refreshing, there is a glut of Vegas KZbinrs shilling for many of Vegas locations and It is hard to trust the content they put out. I really like your honesty and personal insights. You defiantly hit the nail on the head with this list. All the spots you mentioned… These places are over priced, played out and gimmicky. The one place I think in Vegas I think is over rated, over hyped is Tacos El Gordo, the food is average at best. Not to mention the line is absolutely not worth waiting for.

Norma Geli is a Vegas tuber, she’s actually really good with what she puts out. I only follow a few. Babealabe here, has great content. Tacos el gordo, ate there once, it was ok, definitely not worth waiting and there’s much better tacos in Vegas. Pinkbox as well is a bit overrated. Friendly’s, Master’s, Carl’s, Dee’s and winchell’s donuts.. definitely better.

Another great review. I totally agree that the Blue Man Group looks really lame, and the painted rocks in the desert is so ridiculous, especially when you can easily and conveniently visit Red Rock Canyon and other very beautiful and scenic desert areas. There are so many fun and worthwhile things to see and do in Vegas, thanks for helping us avoid these overrated attractions.

Planet Hollywood as a whole has gone completely downhill. It's really sad. It was so much better 7+ years ago. Everything that made that casino fun is gone. You can go to Cedar Point for a whole day for the price of a Gondola ride. That's wild. $50 is the new $10 in Vegas.

I strongly agree with the vast majority of your list as a Vegas enthusiast myself who is planning on moving here in 2025. 🙂 I first have to get out of the way that, to me, the single most overrated thing in Vegas.............are EASILY casino buffets. I see people obsessing, frothing from the mouth about them over and over and over again and saying how they are a HUGE part of why they go to Vegas................and I always find myself shrugging my shoulders with regard to them. Overall, the food quality at these buffets is mediocre-at-best and heavily processed, pretty much like a slightly more premium version of a Golden Corral buffet.............and besides that there's just nothing particularly distinctive or unique about them from an experiential standpoint. You can find buffets most anywhere else, even in smaller towns. I will say the Wynn Buffet is a notable exception in terms of food quality............but on the other hand, you're paying quite a bit for it.............and to me I'd just much rather check out different individual fine dining and casual dining experiences in Vegas one by one. Now with regards to your picks: firstly: the thing about the cheap eats in the Miracle Mile Shops................is that while I certainly sympathize with the pains of inflation and the need for there to be more affordable dining options................I'm just unimpressed with the food quality and distinction there. When I go to Vegas, I thirst something that I can't find most anywhere else with the possible exception of another cosmopolitan city like Miami or Chicago: NOT something that I can find in pretty much any suburban commercial subdivision. My idea of some decent cheap eats on the Strip, rather, are 1) either hitting happy hours on the Strip at places like KOI, SUSHISAMBA, Hussong's Cantina, etc. where the food caliber is superior, or else 2) going to a lounge instead of a proper restaurant and ordering off of their food menu where costs are notably less pricey all things considered. I've never once seen the appeal in waiting in line for a photo at the Las Vegas Sign. I mean, even The Shoppes At Mandalay Bay they have a gift shop with a sign near-identical to that I could just get a picture in front of if I really wanted. I personally prefer the sign/visual art near the STRAT more. One of your points I have mixed opinions about are "speakeasies". I do agree with you that they often can feel a bit more reserved and lack that moxie and dynamism. On the other hand, I DO feel that the rush in trying to find said speakeasies and the dopamine release when you do encounter them legitimately does enhance the overall Vegas experience. For example, there's a new one that opened up at the Horseshoe called The Lock..............that is truly memorable trying to figure out how to even get inside. Also: I personally like it when lounges are dark sometimes because it elicits a swanky, sophisticated vibe. That said, I do agree with you that the concept can be played out too much. 🙂 Finally: AREA 15's Omega Mart is that sort of attraction I recommend checking out once..................but it's really a one-and-done thing to me similar to Mandalay Bay's Shark Aquarium. Buffets are only good for huge eaters. Mikey Chen/Strictly Dumping is a freaking machine, one of the few who can get their moneys worth. I get full on one plate, so buffets are a waste of money. Only thing I like is the all you can eat crab and lobster ones.

Everyone has different motivations in visiting Vegas, but for me it's trying something different I can't do most anywhere else and the experiential aspect of their culinary and mixology scene.

I will point out one worthwhile all-you-can-eat sushi place I've come across. Rikki Tikki Sushi at Westgate has a $33 one with pretty remarkable food quality for an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, and its decor is breathtaking. That's one I'd recommend without hesitation.

As a resident of Las Vegas and a resident for over 12 years now, I feel as VEGA$ has become a fad for people to move here and somehow re-discover this place as though VEGA$ just sprouted up while it has been here for close to 110 years now. 80% of people that move here will not stay for over 3 years. Great video to your efforts to your channel but who come here whether to move or visit will soon find out that this attraction has a "shelf life" to it. Just an FYI as I deal with tourists on a daily basis...

Depends on what you're looking for. It is getting less attractive as they have become an actual city of families. Stadiums are taking away the casinos, it's really a shame to see it die, but when greed is involved it usually ends up badly. I saw the same thing happen but on a smaller scale to the Flats in Cleveland. Once a booming area of bars and night life, generating millions in tax dollars for the city. Now it's a bunch of apartments and parks, and has become a financial drag on the city.

Oh man, this is a great presentation. I do some photography and I think the area around the Las Vegas sign sucks. Power lines in the backdrop, artificial grass up front, and the crowds. I saw the Blue Man Group in Chicago and I thought it was dreadfully boring. Hard pass. I've driven by the Seven Magic Mountains and I keep driving. I couldn't agree more with your list!

After going to Vegas so many times I understand how someone can get tired of it. But yes Vegas has a lot to offer like you can have a blast spending not $1 at the many pools and going to different pools if you are there for a few days. Now if you ask someone who lives there they just hate it😂

Where else can I punch out Muhammad Ali and not worry about him punching me out? Oh, I can get a picture of "Showgirl" with me and not have to worry about checking to see if I still have my wallet. I love "Marvel's Avenger Station" inside TI. I still can't pick up "Thor's Hammer", I'm still not worthy.
