It's so wonderful seeing Laura push the pedals with authority again. Kick ass. Wishes of continued good health in 2023. 🙂 Brilliant painting BTW

Just for the record, Kodachrome was a slide film. 😊 Lovely painting, you bumped up the saturation just like Kodachrome! 🎉😊

It was fun watching as you explored Nevada desert country. And the painting was amazing. Being able to watch someone create is a real treat. Nice way to capture the scenery and provide a lasting memento. But the best part of the video was just to see you and Laura, healthy, and enjoying it together. May 2023 bring you many opportunities like this!

I don't know how you do it. Your painting seems so effortless and it's always beautiful. I've never really been interested in Las Vegas, but these rides are changing my mind.

Love your art set up and that you and Laura take the time for birding and creating art along your rides. That is what cycling should be all about - taking your time and savoring the world as you go. Best wishes for a healthy and happy 2023.

I used to wander that desert a lot over 30 years ago. That Kodachrome road looks new.

A few art Qs. How long doe sit take you to paint that? What do you do with it when you're done, meaning do you wait for it to dry? and most important Q, what does Laura do while you paint?!
@PathLessPedaledTV Жыл бұрын
1) about 30 mins 2) gouache dries super fast and is dry to store away by the time I'm done 3) she usually busts out the binos and goes birding.

Awesome video! I really enjoyed the whole thing, but especially when you painted the rock formation. It was just so cool to watch it happen. Thanks for sharing this.

Those of us living and riding in the desert during Covid learned about Buffs - the lightweight “Coolnet UV” Buff may not have provided much protection from Covid, but they were a great alternative to chemical sunscreens for sun protection, and did counter dust and bugs.

Dang, I need to hit this ride next time I visit my bro in North LV. I've ridden by both entrances.

6:27 that scene right behind you would make a great perspective of where you were. Just the way the road noodles through the desert and the distant mountain range. I live in lake havasu city and have been enjoying your desert rides. I have been marking them on Google maps and hope to follow your paths someday. Thanks for sharing and keep exploring!

I have ridden a dual sport motorcycle all up and down the roads in this area. It is an area common for ditched vehicles, it’s linked to the East side of Vegas so you never know who might be wandering out there.

Je suis un français qui adore aller à Las Vegas et dans ses alentours et votre road trip en velo est extraordinaire. Si je n'habitais pas si loin, je vous accompagnerai bien. Votre gouache (peinture) est très réussie. Félicitation !

Kodachrome was expensive to purchase and expensive to have processed, but darn, I miss it. The image quality and colors were the best!

Kodachrome was a 35mm ASA 25 slide film that took four times the light for an exposure. As a result the photos had extreme color saturation and very detailed. Excellent to make enlargements. Think 4K quality in the 1970s
@ericpmoss Жыл бұрын
Kodachrome slide film was fantastic, basically made for the American southwest. The "Kodachrome blue" skies of New Mexico and the "Kodak gold" of Utah make sense if you've been there at sunset.

Dang I live out here and never knew about this area! I gotta plan to try this trail but it’s definitely on the complete opposite side of town I live on. And that lose and deep gravel happens often on unknown trails here and sometimes you can’t even pedal through it!

Do you two have a Strava (or similar... Komoot, Trailforks...) account that you record your rides on? If so, posting the URL of your rides in the vid descriptions would help your fans find and pre-assess the ride. Thx!
