I remember my dad taking me to the circus circus hotel in 1989. I was 7 years old. I remember my mom popped me on my hand because that was my very first time seeing little people and out loud I said “ooooo midgets”. Smh 🤦🏾‍♀️ Lol 😂. Those were the good old days!! Thanks for posting this video! ❤

Back in the days before cell phones and GoPros, you would be ejected in any casino for trying to film there. It was only when cameras became so small that it was nearly impossible to spot them that casinos just gave up trying.

I love how back then all the signs were lit up with flashing bulbs..even the McDonalds sign😭. Not a fan of todays LED lighting on the strip. Miss classic Vegas❤

I remember that gorilla statue i was 8 years old in 88...we went 2 Vegas every april throughout the 80s ans 90s...as a kid circus circus was amazing..

stayed at Circus Circus my first time in Vegas 1980. Had to take monorail to our room. This part of Vegas was fun back then.. It and Slots of fun are only ones left of many there.. Stardust..Westward Ho.. Riviera.. Frontier.. Silver City.. Morroco all are gone.

Circus circus had their own monorail to rooms in back section of hotel.. They finally took it out..not sure when

I don't think their was an actual monorail until 1983 when the manor rooms section opened. The skyrise tower didn't open until 1986 which also had a monorail.

The small circular building at 0:18 was actually a slot-casino and it even had a bar with a bartender that poured drinks. It was for the manor. I think they got rid of it around 1996, I remember playing slots in there in 1992.

I completely forgot 'Circus Circus' had a Monorail.

They could not get parts to repair it anymore. I believe it took its last trip about 2009, Now you have to walk through through the entire casino and through the Promenade mall to get to the Skyrise tower

@@kschreihart Really? I think to many people were screwing around on the monorail so they got rid of it. The crowd ar Circus Circus turned trashy in the late 90s/early 00s.

Circus-Circus back then had a great restaurant for breakfast called the Pink Pony. Greatest pancakes in Vegas.

The mono rail is no longer there as well as the extra lights that ran all around the building and the flashing circus circus neon now it just lights without flashing. and of course the neighboring hotels like the el rancho and stardust used to stand where unfinshed hotels still remain darken the strip, I will never understand it why they tore these great places down . Thank you for sharing this video it brings back happier times on the north strip
