Awesome video but a weird observation...why does the spinner on the right engine sit higher than the left? As in the spinner is not flush with the cowling if that makes sense.
@RMAG Жыл бұрын
@@aviator_josh the left engine has the air conditioner so it’s cowling has a a different shape for the airflow into the AC.

Good to see you again. I followed your X-country flight with your father, in your previous Mooney. Always something to enjoy and learn in your adventures!

It has to be a bit nerve wracking following the big birds. Enjoying your flights. Comfy ride and smooth landings. 😁

I'm a new subscriber. Older guy but back in the day had commercial single-engine licenses. I like watching aviation videos but in this one I liked watching your right seated co-pilot better.

I enjoyed this series. I fly from AZ to KVGT for biz a few times a month and also KSEZ for fun. I have an Ovation 3 and looking for a Baron 58. You provided some great insight as to the differences and important equip considerations. Thanks for a great video.

Which system is giving you voice control? That’s a really nice feature to have especially for ATC playback during complicated taxis
@RMAG Жыл бұрын
It is a Garmin GMA 35c remote audio panel controlled through the GTN 750. Voice control is called Telligence. Here is the guide: static.garmin.com/pumac/190-01007-50_b.pdf I also often use it in the air after I get a ATC handoff, I'll punch the new frequency in, and then playback to hear which approach or center I was being handed to. I often miss that because I'm focusing on the frequency, not the name.

Love the Bonanza and if I had ever owned a piston twin would have been the Baron. Long time CFII/MEI and commercial pilot here. From what I saw you're a good pilot. Nice panel and you know it well. Airplane too. Good radio work. Brief and to the point. Did you go to Flightsafety or equivalent for Baron training? Personally when they gave you the delay at VGT and again at Sedona I would have departed VFR and picked up the IFR on the way or given the weather not at all. But that's your call. Blue skies!

I did do FlightSafety training. I talk about it and show a little in my latest video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaGmppSqnt-Mq7Msi=g0_z6yrQwraZmDlk

That’s a sweet panel for an older Baron! Did you think about getting a late model pressurized Baron?

I notice some chips on your rotor blades. Hopefully that doesnt conflict with an anything.
@RMAG Жыл бұрын
The props are not chipped, you are seeing peeled paint off the back of them. Happens flying through rain, etc.

Does your plane have altitude compensating fuel pumps? If so, would you still have to lean manually for density altitude?
@RMAG Жыл бұрын
I don’t have altitude compensating fuel pumps. So I’m not too familiar with their operation.

Hey I need insurance quotes, my people have been ghosting me. After 10yrs of paying for insurance it's taking 3weeks to get a damn quote. I've already lost the deal on the airplane
