Hi Jan.... thanks for all your videos!! You’re such a gentle soul, I’m always tuning in to see what you’re doing next. I love your style, so much! I’m going to the market tomorrow to get the ingredients to make a pan of lasagne! I make mine very similar to yours, except I don’t add the sugar. Your videos always inspire me to cook! Blessings to you dear lady! ❤️

Every Italian household makes their lasagna a little bit on the dry side. When it's time to eat they pass around a bowl of sauce to put on top of the slice of lasagna. :-)

That's exactly how I do it I love extra sauce. I learned that from my Mother's Italian boyfriend! 😀 💖 I like how they call it sauce! Elizabeth Shaw look up Buon-A-Petitti this is a really nice Italian Grandma doing authentic Italian dishrs. She just hit 100K subscribers. She is so cute, lots of great recipes she learned from her Mother and Grandma. 😊 Or you might know her channel already! 😀

Don't be scared. I've done it and I'm not even considered a good cook by my family (siblings) since I somewhat learned how to cook later in life. I followed a recipe from Allrecipes.com and it was really good. I've made it a few times.

I mix the two cheeses that way too. Eggs and all. I don't use sugar of any kind in my tomato stuff. It is very good for taking out the "tang" of the tomato sauce. I love the tang so I don't do that. Jan, you're cooking is awesome!!

I really enjoy watching your videos. Whenever I make lasagna, I never cook the noodles. There really isn't any reason to buy those "pre-cooked" noodles. The trick is to make it ahead of time. I like mixing Italian sausage with ground beef. Also, add about a cup of extra water to the sauce. The noodles will soak it up and soften. After you have layered it (don't put the moz cheese on yet), cover with foil and put it in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours or overnight. This "softens" the noodles. When ready to cook, bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Uncover and top with cheese and bake, uncovered, for another 30 minutes or until bubbly. I have never mixed cottage cheese with the ricotta, but have used it instead of ricotta. I may try combining the two next time I make it ---probably this weekend, since it is finally getting below 75! LOL

Hi definitely will try dry lasagna noodles, always hot italian sausagexwith hamburger meat, never cottage cheese just ricotta, and I put the mozzarella after 1st layer on top of lasagna noodles to hold better, and have tried going opposite ways with the noodles too. With a nice big salad too! Bless you for all your great recipes and tips..

Jan I absolutely love how you put your long hair up and out of the way to cook. One of my favorite cooks on KZbin cooks with her long hair almost hanging down in the food and that distracts me! I can’t help my OCD! Lol. Your lasagna looks yummy but I would definitely leave out that large amount of Splenda. A teaspoon might do though for the acid of the tomato and I’m going to try it. Thanks Jan for your videos. I just love watching you!
