This pattern really helped me figure out my own pattern I've been working on for a bit, there was an issue I was having with hole alignment on the side gussets and this really helped me figure it out!

Hi Tony, I found that the combination of mirroring the designs, cutting fast (2800mm/m @ 15w power and a lot of passes) with the flesh side up, keeps the cuts cleaner and the stitching holes are less charred. I can use light coloured thread too now. I also make the stitching holes smaller (about 1mm/1,2mm). You can always experiment with it. (the mirroring is needed when a design is not symetrical)

I only have a 400 x 400 laser, so I will need to split the main piece in two. but a seam on the bottom of the base will be fine. This is the next project. Thanks for your excellent work and explanation.

Hey Tony, I know we don't have your same leather supplier in the states, but what mm is that leather and what color did they call it? It's fantastic for showing off that laser work!

its a 2.2 mm veg tan with a glossy finish, not sure if the color has an official name

I'm wondering how the "copper details" sheet in the pattern works. I see it calls for a "half a square inch of a 5mm copper sheet". Im assuming you mean half a foot?

I always double stitch the last two holes but I tighten very well it and maybe that's why you can't tell

A program like lightburn is absolutely worth the license price if you want to do laser work. It will open just about any file type and has so many features. I even use it to convert projects to svg for using on my cricut maker 3.
