Phenomenal! I can't wait to expand with a laser! I know my pet tumbler customers would adore these! TFS!

I don't have a very steady hand for tracing, but you got me thinking about using the auto paint tool in Corel Painter. 🤔 I'll have to try it this weekend.

What masking do you use? I find when I squeegee it down onto the wood and engrave/cut then the gorilla tape can't lift it off because it was pressed down too hard, but if I don't squeegee it down then I get a lot of glue/tape residue on the piece. Thanks!

amazing tutorials!!! I was just wondering if you have your machine inside the house and if so how you deal with smells, dust etc. Thanks and keep up the great videos!!! xx

Thank you! I have it in my small guest room. Upgrading the hose to a heavy duty plastic one helped with the smell a ton.

Hello, thank you for this video, i love procreate! I just learned how to trace with it. I was wondering what price point you charge for something like this?

Do you mind sharing how long it actually took you to remove the masking with the Gorilla Tape? Unmasking seems to take forever, and I have the worst results with Gorilla tape or any Duct Tape, but I'm wondering if I just "think" it should be faster than it really should so very curious how many "minutes" were spent unmasking.

why dont you use inkscape to trace the image. doing it by hand is a lots more work. or convert to grey scale and do raster engrave?
@ThatMomWithALaser3 жыл бұрын
True. I just wasn’t going for the photo engraved look here. This style is meant to be a statement piece that really catches the eye. ☺️

@@ThatMomWithALaser oh nice. but it will take you alot of work for those 20 orders. not something i would like to do if there was any other way. and there is. l and with effects you can get something looking like it was hand made. heehee

Thank you for this video, I do not have a laser yet. I will have a 7w diode laser added to my new (never touched one before) Onefinity CNC and hope it will earn me enough money to afford a Aeon Mira 9, or Nova 10 in the future. I lost my Service Dog Smokey (he is in my profile picture) a year and a half ago and dream of selling various types of pet memorials and have been looking for ideas.

how long does each photo take? do you find customers prefer this method vs directly rastering the image? your final products do look very good and thankyou for sharing your methods.
@ThatMomWithALaser3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The time will greatly depend on the quality of the photo, complexity of the pet, and the skill of the artist. For a beginner like me, it is taking anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. As for what customer's prefer, I think it's very much a taste and style thing. Personally I prefer this look over a photo engrave. It "pops" aesthetically in my opinion. :)

@@ThatMomWithALaser i agree, i does look much better than a photo engrave

Wow you are so good with procreate. I don't have an iPad or use Apple. I wish I could learn how to do this? Any tips?
@ThatMomWithALaser3 жыл бұрын
For me, using the ipad has been the easiest method. You could hand draw it and then take a photo and import it into your software but cleaning it up might take forever.

Adorable! How long did it take to engrave and cut on your Mira?

I didn't time it. I'm guessing 3-5 minutes maybe? I'll time the next one I do and get back to you!

What is the purpose of masking the wood on the front and back?
@jessetutterrow43202 жыл бұрын
It keeps the wood from being discolored by the cutting process. If you don't mask you can sand.
