As a new laser owner, this is the most helpful video I have found to develop a maintenance routine. Thank you.

Thanks! I'm envious. I spent a couple weeks on Maui with a side trip to Honolulu and had considered moving there as a result. 😀

What is the brand you use for anti freeze

I normally use propylene glycol and water in roughly a 2 parts water to 1 part gylcol. It’s nice because it isn’t toxic and doesn’t screw up the environment

Hi Steve, it's been months since I've chatted with you. I still have my Full Spectrum 90W laser, but yesterday it completely quit. No power, no lights, nothing. I've submitted a ticket, but no response since I'm out of warranty. Any suggestions? I checked the fuse, cord, power outlet, etc.
@SteveMakesEverything Жыл бұрын
Hey! Sounds to me like the 12/24v power supply is dead. You could try to measure some voltages on the main controller board if it’s something you can handle. Stay away from to output on the high voltage supply to the tube though

@@SteveMakesEverything Oh gosh, what is the 12/24 power supply? Do you know where I locate it, and then I can put an electric current probe on it. Is it expensive to replace?
@SteveMakesEverything Жыл бұрын
@@sallyann-nicolemiller5625 It shouldn't be too expensive but FSL does charge a lot for parts. What I would suggest is to unplug the laser an let it sit for an hour, then try to find the power supply and first look for loose plugs on the main board (no danger if he laser is completely unplugged from the wall for a while). Maybe the power connector has become dislodged from the main board. I'm not sure where it is in the 90W laser, but it will be behind a panel somewhere on the laser.

PS: I noticed a tiny spot in the center of the lense. Would that have anything to do with it?
@SteveMakesEverything3 жыл бұрын
If it’s cutting well on part of the workspace then I’d guess that it’s not likely the lens. This would mostly like be alignment. You could outdoor me a close-up of the lens so I could see the spot. The energy density of the unfocused beam shouldn’t really be enough to damage the lens though.

Hi Steve Makes -- hope Steve can Fix. I laid a 19 x 11" 1/8 sheet in the PS24 to cut out ornaments. When I get to about 12" across, it no longer cuts and barely engraves. I 'attempted' to align my mirrors yesterday, cleaned the lense, but it didn't resolve the problem. Any suggestions?
@SteveMakesEverything3 жыл бұрын
The latest alignment video that FSL put out a few weeks ago is actually a pretty decent tutorial. Take a look at that

How many hours of use in between each of your cleanings? Any idea?
@SteveMakesEverything3 жыл бұрын
It really depends what I’m cutting. Figure once a month. Give the lens and mirrors a quick wipe and you’ll be good
