Thank you for educating us on all the different types of laser treatments, and talking about the pain levels associated with these. I knew someone who got laser for rosacea, and she was in pain for MANY days and her face was bright red all that time. She didn't actually complete the treatments because of the pain of the first one. Also, she didn't see a huge benefit. I'm thinking she got one of the old school treatments, not even the right kind for her condition!

I'm due to receive fully ablative co2 laser in one month for acne scars & I'm absolutely terrified. I've gotten 4 fractional laser treatments done with mild improvement in scarring but I'm so sick of these scars that I'm seeking a more dramatic effect. Since hardly anyone performs fully ablative lasers anymore, the only person near me who does it is a medical doctor (not a dermatologist. ) He said he performs about 2 per week & has never had a client whose experienced negative side effects. I'm just so nervous 😓 😟

I had fraxel dual laser done one month ago. My derm recommendeds two or three of these treatments for best results, only because I am older and my skin damage is pretty severe: pre-cancers, some small basal cell cancers, and brown age spots. After the first fraxel treatment I can already see some improvement in all the above conditions, as well as fine wrinkle reduction. I had about 8 days down time while my skin peeled. Pain was very minimal with the numbing cream applied before the procedure. I look forward to completing my laser series, and I am being religious about sunscreen and retinol every day.

Initially 3 treatments then twice a year to keep results. The results have been amazing. And the more treatments I do the better is that area. I put a numbing cream before and take a painkiller and it is really not so bad at all. They also give a cortisone shot to speed up the recovery. The treatment has been a miracle and a great alternative to botox which I really didn't want to do. Thanks again. Looking forward to your videos as usual!

@DrDrayzday7 жыл бұрын
It depends on the skin concern being treated and the wavelength. Several sessions are needed for things like photodamage on the neck, but "maintenance" is more about you using photoprotection to maintain the outcome the ipl sessions achieved

GREAT video that anyone considering laser treatment MUST watch! One of the best Dr. Dray on KZbin! I live in the Dallas area so I have several choices for dermatology. Do your research friends! I actually have TWO dermatologist that I see. One specialist is for skin evaluation like moles and checking to see if any sun damaged spots or areas might need to be taken off and biopsied. So far no skin cancer. He is very conservative and I like that. Also charts my skin so he keeps track of any area that may change. I go at a minimum of once a year. The other dermatologist specialist is for laser treatments and other more cosmetic concerns. A few months ago I had my first Fraxel laser treatment and your description is spot on. My results are fantastic and I can't wait to have a second treatment. Because of the cost and down time, probably will schedule for 12 months from my first treatment. For me it was a week at home :). Also I would be interested in seeing a video on hair removal. Years ago I had my underarms done over I think it was 5 or 6 treatments and it has been really good. I'm considering other areas. xo xo

@@sambambina8063 According to my skin and the pigment of the capillaries, the team decided that PDL is the one for me (Puslated Die Laser). It' s literally a rubber band that went to the wrong direction and a camera flash (in spite of being 🕶️ protected, you see the room like a disco) Then, you feel exactly the same than when you accidentally hit with a door😅. The hematoma lasts about a week where I apply _arnica_ everytime my skin drinks it and ta-daaah!!!✨ I' ve noticed that tretinoine (it' s been 3 years using it) helps to reduce the amount, the frequency and the intensity of the new ones. Dr Dray said that tret reinforces the vascular system so it makes total sense. Don' t hesitate to ask me about any other procedure. Sending tones of health 🧛🏻♀️🖤

I did a dual fraxel laser procedure in January of this year and I am still a experiencing sun sensitivity. It is extremely difficult for me. What should I do? I have gone back to the dermatologist and they have been no help to me.

Dr. Dray, I notice the Snow White Cream contains mineral oil. I’ve always heard that was not a good ingredient in skin care products. What do you think? I find your videos SO helpful! Thank you! :)

Content idea 💡 : 1) which moisturizers are best during laser hair removal (so the treatment would not be affected badly) 2) which moisturizers are best for ingrown hairs. These are two videos that is not presented by any doctor on KZbin. I know, because I was searching! 🙏🏽

Hi Dr. Dray, Would you be so kind as to speak to the NIRA laser, it is very expensive and influencers are really pushing the NIRA. Thank you so much, looking forward to what you have to say about this because I trust you.

Dr dray! Thank you for so much information. Would you recommend fraxl laser for hyperpigmentation and dark/sun spots? My face is a bit darker than my body because I always covered my body but not my face from the sun. I live in a Tiny island and there’s only one dermatologist and that’s the only laser she has. Would love to hear your thoughts

I heard that’s more for fine lines and wrinkles. You would want something like Moxi or a YAG laser.

This is so helpful! Thank you for such an informative video. May I make a suggestion, hopefully not to give offense. You have lovely skin, of course. But the lighting in some of your videos gives you a sallow yellow appearance, which I'm sure is not your coloring IRL. I'm no tech expert and don't know the solution, but it is something you might want to look into. Once again, thanks for all your help!

I always appreciate that you recommend seeing a derm. However wait times are incredibly long. I have several suspicious spots and both my parents have had melanomas and BCC, and yet I have to wait 14 months to see a derm 😔 I tried requesting a referral to a different derm office, and I have been waiting 8 weeks since my Doc faxed the referral to the second derm and haven’t had even a call back to schedule an appt. It’s incredibly frustrating and upsetting to feel like I have these ticking time bombs on my skin, and yet other people may be going to derms for cosmetic treatments. 😔

Why don't you go for cosmetics with a derm and at the same time ask her about those spots. Just skip the extra step

Thanks for this info on lasers! Since you told us you were publishing this video on your Wednesday "Cosmetic Corner", I've been counting the days like a little kid.......really! lol! I would LOVE a video on laser hair removal. And Botox. And fillers. And all cosmetic procedures you can think of! 😃👍😃👍. I so appreciate you making us educated consumers! We are so fortunate to have a Board Certified Dermatologist teaching us and replying to our comments every day of the week. (And I'm not forgetting about the recipes, weekends with you and your mom, and everything else you include in your videos.) Thanks doc! Rita

Hi Dr. Dray I would like to get your recommendation on the NEATCELL laser. I was interested in buying this laser but there is not much input on it. It has a blue and red laser for either tattoos, birthmarks, scars, moles, freckles.

great video! what's your opinion on the DOT laser as im looking to getting a procedure done. However im hesitant because im Hispanic and ive heard ethnic skins shouldn't under go laser treatments. I do have really white skin so I don't know if I undergo the same risks as another person with ethnic skin? The dermatologist told me that with DOT laser most people see great results just with one treatments while microneedling and regular fractional lasers take at least 3 treatments for results. I love your videos!!!

Interesting that you say lasers are curative for certain cosmetic concerns with proper prevention. My doc said that vascular laser unfortunately needs to be repeated at maintenance intervals because physiological dilation of the vessels through exercise, heat etc causes the telangiectasia to return. I have noticed this for myself, but then again I haven't completed the full course of Excel V for this.

not true necessarily...many vessels that are the result of aging or rosacea will break down and be resorbed by the body and go away
