LightWELD is a Class 4 laser. Special safety precautions are required.
In the United States, the ANSI Z136.1 standard spells out necessary
safety precautions.
Key Points
LightWELD should only be used in a Laser Controlled Area (LCA).
Personal protection equipment must be worn inside LCA
Eye Protection - Laser Safety Glasses (greater than OD6 @ 1070nm)
Face Protection - Laser Welding Helmet
Skin Protection - Heat-resistant Gloves, Long Sleeves, Pants, Shoes
Each company should appoint a Laser Safety Officer (LSO)
Fumes - Hazards & Mitigations similar to MIG/TIG.
