A wise man once told me (In relation to painting stowage on armor vehicles) treat every piece like it’s a model of its own! So you should fully paint and weather everything equally, that’s how you sell a scale model.

Thanks for describing the same thing I have noticed but would not have been able to say it as succinctly as this 😅 I'm often amazed at how much detail and effort goes into a piece of the build that is often completely covered in the end. Inspires me to pay more attention to the details in my own creative works

Thomas, your work is incredible. Watching you build this is like watching you put a photograph together, only in 3D. Your attention to detail is fenominal. Not understanding the rocks on the roof detail. I reckon it must be a European thing. Living in Texas we don't see a lot of cable cars, or snow. Take care. It's a joy to watch someone with a gift to create.

The principle behind it is relatively simple. The wooden shingles are simply laid on and not nailed or fixed in any other way. To prevent them from falling down in storms, wind and snow for example, they are pressed onto the roof with crossbars, which are themselves weighted down by stones. In the end, you have a fairly robust roof construction with roof shingles, which are turned over about every 5 years so that both sides can wear out. In total, this could be done up to four times before the shingles had to be completely replaced. 😉

A man out of the world, living by the land; not ignorant of the horrors done to mankind, but now distant from it. He watches in contemplation as the ancient dead try hopelessly to reach him from their cable-car prison. He hadn’t actually seen any undead in some time, so this was a horrible respite from the otherwise tranquil forest scenery. The ones that were able to walk around have long since fallen apart from atrophy. It’s been, what, 6 years since Day One? Time doesn’t really matter anymore. Society has shown signs of rebuilding in the last few months, but every so often one can still find these confused dead locked away, trapped, waiting for another meal. May they never find it.
