A tip for everyone that just bought the lenses. Something that helped me a lot to put it on was to push it slowly, firmly grabbing my eyelids. Let your eye get more wet every time while you push it until you push all the way to your eye. With practice you’re gonna do this faster and faster every time. Patience! At the beginning it was veeeery frustrating, I would even cry because I couldn’t put them on but I did that and it helped me a lot

Just got sclera lens, had Cornea GPS lens before.Tips:When lenses are ordered, go online and order xtra insertion and removal tools, Also I use 3ml Addipak saline. I use Boston from BL for storage your choice here!Before you get lenses you can practice a home a bit, follow video!Insertion, keep both eyes open, Jam both eyelids open, and insert, you will get use to the cool saline in your eye. Removal you can practice the positioning of the tool on your eye, follow video. I use a book to get more height on my chair, Tuck your chin into your chest, maintain 90 degree angle to your table/desk! I do not suction lens onto plunger, why, one less step after your lens is in. Removal follow video.In no time you will be a "pro"! Lenses are wicked comfortable! Also I noticed wind/dust do not affect them!

Thank you! I have keratoconus and have tried all sorts of lenses ie Soft contacts, hybrid, and LaserFit Lens has for sure helped me. I couldn't even get a soft lens in my eye before. It takes time and again have a good finger hold. Best of luck. sorry it's late. :)

I just got sceleral lens yesterday... The first day it seemed near impossible, but learned it's just in the grip and how you open your eyelids..Now it takes me less than 5 minuties. Using a stand is easier so you have two hands to popen the eyelids. You'll want to open your eyelids at their tips , so no part of eyelid can flex or flinch (assuming your fingers keeps holding them open) as you bring them into your eyes.. You have to keep reminding yourself to hold them open until the lens is in the eye (you may be getting scared so let go of your grip on the eyelids0... I know this sounds simple, but they'll go right in once you get accustomed to this process.

I am writing this to keratoconus patients. I did cross linking and then I tried hybrid contact lenses with hard center and silicon rim.. But unfortunately I did not tolerate it.. I lost a lot of money for it. I waited years. 2 weeks ago I did my SCLERAL LENSES WAAAAW! crisp vision, very very very comfortable.. Yes it is expensive but it worths every cent I paid.. I used to struggle because as soon as the solution touched my eyes I'd blink. So, I figured it out. I now warm up the solution first in a small cup and then dry the veil when I take it out. Now I don't blink or feel when the solution has touched. I use a mirror to make sure im positioned right and done.

I've been struggling to put them in for hours and when i finally succeed i start experiencing an unbearable pain and burning and my both eyes turn red and i cant see nothing but blurriness. It's really stressfull and a real life torture and for what? Hi there, how many fittings did it take until you were matched with a pair? I had the same issue, turns out the lens were a bit tight, and scratching my eyes. Another fitting, and refresh eyedrops later, and I was good to go. Often in the morning I'll experience a burning. I simply remove the bothersome lens, and insert drops in my eye. Rest for 5 minutes, and reinsert the lens. My job requires a ton of screen time, if I'm not careful and strain my eyes for too long, it'll get irritated for a few days. At this point, I apply antibiotics every 4 hours for 2-3 days. Once my irritated eye feels better, I insert the lens again. It's a lifestyle change that's for sure, but I'm so grateful for them. I have a tremendous surgeon and fitter, helps to have Doctor's who care, and listen to your concerns. Good luck, and don't give up!

Make sure you put contact solution on your contacts so they don't dry out when your putting it on your eyes and open your eye wide enough to get it in their lol

Hi, I have some trouble inserting my scleral lenses since they 'wobble' on my eye. I don't know if that is a valid term to use but what happens is that I insert the scleral lens and when I check in the mirror it looks kind of loose and if I slightly push it with my index finger it moves a lot. I have tried different methods (tripod, plunger, two fingers) and I eventually get it to stay in place even if I push it but sometimes it takes too many tries and my eyes hurt from the constant intertion and removal of the lenses. Is this normal? Is there something I can do to insert them more easily? I've been using them for more than a year now. Thanks in advance

I’m dealing with the same thing. You’ll have to keep practicing until your eye gets use to the touch of the lenses. I cried in the dr office for two hours because I could get it in and out but kept having a bubble. I hope you figure out what works for you soon because it’s worth it. Good luck!

Cxl is only done for stopping keratoconus not for healing it , you have to wear contacts for only better vision not for curing them , vision will be better after keratoplasty only

Make sure the lens is completely filled with the saline and make sure it is centered on your eye. If not filled, you will get a bubble that will distort your vision. The lenses are designed to contact the whites (sclera) of your eye. If the lens is not centered, it will also distort your vision

Thank you. I will be fitted next month due to an eye injury by my optometrist piercing my just healed cornea scar with a burr tool. The just healed scar was caused by an accident when I was mowing. I am legally blind at this time in my left eye. My doctors don't think the Scleral lense will help me, but have been willing to let me try it. Have been told I would have to get a full cornea transplant which I am dreading at this point if the Sclera lense doesn't work. My Opthamologist told me if I would just get 50% of my vision back, he would be happy. My cornea specialist has already told me he doesn't think the Scleral lenses will work, but he hopes it will. Before this happened, I was a soft contact user for years. Had perfect vision up close and far away with them. If any one out there has had a full cornea transplant, do you mind sharing your experience with me. Thank you. Also anyone who uses the Scleral lenses. I am appreciative to find this video.

I had my cornea transplant done over 5 years ago and it's actually not that bad after a day of the surgery you can take off the bandage. What sucked for me was keep going to the eye Dr to remove the stitches that would start to fall off after time since it can happen at any time. The loose stich feels like a thick hair on your eye ball with a lot of discomfort and nothing you can do until your next Dr visit. But over all we'll worth it I was also legally blind on my right eye. Now with sclerol lenses I see 20/20

I have a pair but I hurt my eyes trying to take them out. I was so nervous that I kept them in for more than a day and eventually damaged one eye, I even had to be treated for corneal ulcer and something else. The lenses are very effective though. I need help to get over my fear.
