@@CartierEd Even the lasko box fans from about 2009 are better than this. With the same steel body and similar appearance, the fan has roughly the same amount of power than one from let's say 2005. The blades are slightly deeper pitch and the motor is slightly more powerful. And it's quieter too. So, consider finding an old Lasko at a flea market some time and steal the motor and blade from it, spray paint the blade black to match your black box fan. You will not regret it. This does not apply to the blade with the small hole in the hub (not to be confused with the weather-shield which is far superior); it is newer and lesser pitch.

@@sccpstevei have one from 2005-06 and the motor pulls 0.92 amps on high which is .04 less than my weathershield before i swapped its motor. Lasko motors before 2013 were a lot more powerful

@@sccpsteve That is a good idea. I do have my since new 1997 Lasko 3733 that 'blows' all these away. I did a video on it a while ago. It has a lot of hours on it and I restored it over 5 years ago and this year have it as a daily runner again. They don't make them like that any longer for sure!

I feel and this is from personal experience, that any of the color lasko box fans, they are not well balanced. As opposed to the white blade standard box fans.

I would adhere rubber feet to the bottom of the fan to prevent it from sliding. This is a disastrous flaw with Lasko box fans. The square motors are junk, they are not as powerful as let's say a Cophaco, Glory, or Promotor brand motor.

That is a good tip. I hope that this one is just a dud and that they are at least a little better than this.

Exactly. These motors are crap. But surprisingly the one in my light blue cool colors seems good.

Ehh, i used to have a 2007 lasko 3733 it came with a crappy “supreme” motor with very tiny windings and only drew .75 amps. Pretty odd right

@@Fanscarsetc I have a ProMotor brand motor that drew who knows what (I have not tested it) but it is far superior than the motors of today. Yes, the windings are the same gauge as the octagonal stators of today.

@@sccpsteve I also have one of those promotor ones and it draws 0.9 amps on high. I also have an unbranded motor that says “bf-06-3” but the stamp on the capacitor says “PM lot” which means promotor. All of the windings have the same gauge but some motors simply have more or less copper than others, and the windings are usually arranged closer together or more stretched out
