Was this movie predictable? Yep. Was it cheesy? You betcha. But it was also heartwarming and bittersweet. I would def recommned it especially as I'm a Malaysian and seeing Michelle and Henry made me feel at home, in a strange way.

I feel like we need these kinds of movies though. There’s far too many movies and tv shows that are either really depressing or dark and gratuitous (while also being predictable-not to mention so ‘self aware’ which highly obnoxious) and we need happy feel good movies like this to balance it out. Even the saccharine Disney movies are needed.

It took me a long time to understand this movie, even though I already loved it because of my obsession with Christmas (by the way, there are 357 days until Christmas) and because of my love for the way Emilia Clarke acts. It was hard for me to assimilate that a man as good and gentle as Tom was not a real man for Kate with what she deserved someone like that, but a ghost, a good Christmas spirit. But now I understand that it was necessary to write it like this to make her understand life better and fight for herself and to help real life people understand love and what Christmas is.
