I know this is about Natalie and the PM but the hug his sister gives him when she sees him at the recital so so meaningful to me. She confirms her husband is cheating, has to be present for her kids and sees her brother in what she assumes is supporting her kids as their uncle even though he’s been so busy and absent as PM. She needs someone in her corner and sees her brother and her squeeze says all. 7:42

Absolutely agree, and was going to write the same thing. As usual, Emma Thompson gets it so right and we really feel it. Something really good for her happens in the middle of her desperation. She never, ever expected him to visit, but he did!! Love multiplies and multiplies, connects and connects, like all good and beautiful things delivered to us by the Holy Spirit. This movie is full of Him, surprising as it may seem. Because He (as the very Spirit of love and truth) really is ... all around This is the true meaning of the film, which goes FAR deeper than we think, if only we have the eyes to see it...

Hugh Grant's facial expression when the guard starts to sing really reminded me of Charlie Chaplin.

Absolutely! He really brings a certain charm to the movie that you don't find in many other actors. His character is so endearing and you can't help but root for him.

Midsummer, a warm wind is blowing on the porch. I am drumming with the little drummer and cheering for Plumpy!

How clever is that? I've been studying the divinity and spirituality of this film for ages, but only now realised thanks to you that he is the little drummer boy who plays his drums for the baby Jesus - as in the carol, and gives his heart... Thanks for letting me "see" this further detail.

Makes me so sad to see Alan R. F#*King Cancer. Such an AMAZING Actor and person. Love this movie. A Christmas Classic. Emma T. just freakin kills it when she doesn't get the pendant. Knife to the heart - right there, with our (🇨🇦's) beloved Joni singing that killer version of Both Sides Now. So freakin good.

Just as God wanted went he sent His Holy Spirit to inspire Richard Curtis into making a post-9/11 film that told us love was all around, including among plane passengers at airports... It speaks for itself, does it not. Just open your eyes and "SEE"...
