Guys, I completely understand and pay my dues everywhere, but I really got stuck and she knows me, I’m a regular customer there and it was the same day I went and paid, just missed 1 hour and that’s it. OBVIOUSLY I was going to pay her the same day. I was genuinely hurt because I loved going to her, we always had good conversations but her attitude completely changed and she overreacted by threatening me, wish I recorded the conversation in the salon, but I was really hurt and I’ll always be honest with my PEEKAPOO family, will share everything with them! It’s all about the language. I agree I should have gone there on time but it’s all about using threatening language with your regular customers, she could have been just stern but police? This just seemed too much. So good or bad, you are my family and I can tell you everything right, please don’t take it in any other way. I in fact praised her so much in the start with all my heart and good intentions. I had to tell you the truth, good or bad. End of the story. And this is my personal experience, not all videos or things in life can be happy and perfect, I can also make mistakes, I can have bad experiences too. But I shared it with you because we are one family. ❤

Basically the CHINESE lady didnt know customer service. And dont worry Pooja, we are humans, we forget things and we do feel bad. No need to give explanation to people here, everyone is different in feeling things. That is how you felt and that is OKAY, people wont feel it unless they experience the same. But I bet you when they’ll have the similar experience they will react the same way.

Pooja, maybe the other way of looking at it is that many customers sweet talk with service providers, and use it as a manipulative strategy to seek favours from them and not pay. And they may choose to do this over a period of time, like a few months. However, she could have been stern saying she is awaiting your payment, instead of directly threatening to call the cops. Language matters

Wow, the entitlement and sheer audacity. She did her nails, didn’t pay for the service on time, promised to be back in an hour, went around town for her coffee, shopping and lunch, didn’t even bother to pick up calls from the salon and returns several hours later at her own convenience. And the salon lady is at fault apparently smh. I don’t know what else did she expect-for the salon lady to keep waiting at her beck and call and usher her in with a garland when she returns at closing hours? If you’re a regular customer, you ought to know by now that the store accepts cash only. And if you don’t know, at least have the basic courtesy to get the cash from the nearest atm and pay it off the first thing. I mean how long does it take, really? Gosh, get off from your high horse, lady.

The fact that she published this, and phrased it in such a manner that makes her the victim is absolutely disgusting. I just looked up the store here on Google, and people have posted extremely bad reviews on the store after this video was published. This was nothing but a simple example of how privileged folks act when things don't go their way. The video is malicious and so is she.

Will you be okay if tomorrow a brand asks to collaborate with you and says they will pay but not pick your calls? Would you be okay if they shade you when you ask for your money? Sitting there on a high chair looking down at small businesses just because they asked what is due is very unfair. Congrats on the money you will make with the views by adding a click bait thumbnail. Pooja I'm a regular here at your channel, but this video got me upset. You overreacted, and I think you were wrong. You had lunch, went home, got some things done and had absolutely no worries about the money you own this place for a service provided to you. She tried calling you and messaged you before she decided to give you a final warning and calling the cops ( and looks like she didn't!) .You should have given her the cash right after your appointment. Also, why shaming the business ( which you stated was doing a good job) and using your power on socials in such case? Clearly, it was your mistake. 😕 Sadly, I have a different perspective on this channel now.

I have noticed that the newer arrivals from India that are coming to USA and Canada have this sense of entitlement and attitude to them that the earlier (70’s/80’s) arrivals did not have. My main observation being that they treat folks working in the service industry (retail/restaurants etc.) so bad - and it’s painful to watch this. I’m so glad my own parents, who emigrated in 1970, never did this and most of all, they made an effort to understand and assimilate into American society. I thought Pooja was different but clearly she’s not.

No offence Pooja, but I do think you overreacted. Firstly, you should've taken cash knowing the place prefers to take cash. Secondly, even if you didn't have cash, you should have made paying her the priority instead of coming back later and paying - it's basic etiquette, irrespective of regular customer or not. In fact, it's actually really sweet of the nail technician to have let you go and have lunch without paying. This shows that she showed trust in you and knows you as a regular customer (trust me, many places don't even do that). Thirdly, you should've held your side of the commitment and paid within the timeframe discussed. I'm sorry but I don't think you did that. You went in during broad daylight and by the time you went back to pay, it was actually night/evening. So it was definitely more than a 1-hour delay as you say (also, don't came at me that days are short and it gets dark v soon in Canada, I live in Mississauga too). Fourthly, she called you and you didn't pick up. As a small business owner, please try and understand her point of view of someone not paying. Obviously, she'll think of the worst and she may have had a bas experience in the past. Lastly, I completely understand how YOU must've felt at that moment when you got the message from her. In the moment, we all have heightened emotions and feel as though "what's the big deal man". We try and justify our actions and sometimes it can be at the cost of putting others down. That's still fine. But where I believe you went horribly wrong was that you bashed the business on the internet in front of thousands of people. It's great that you would like to be honest to your community, but you should've showed some maturity and probably edited the parts where you badmouthed the business and instead probably just told us exactly what happened and how YOU felt, rather than how THEY as a business are.

I usually don’t comment on videos but i had to for this one. Your actions showed a complete lack of empathy. I don’t think you were starving to the point of fainting, right? Your duty was to first and foremost pay for the service you received. Period. Going to the ATM would have delayed you from getting lunch by what, 15 mins? You might not have paid for what seemed like genuine reasons to you, but do you know how stressful it is for a small business owner to chase down customers? Have you ever had to chase people down for payment after working for them? Did you not think for a second that perhaps that person who threatened to call the police has been through many such incidents and therefore felt obligated to make such a threat? You only thought of yourself in this whole scenario and have publicly defamed a business just because they refused to operate on your la-la land terms and conditions. Get a grip.

This actually hurt me and I'm surprised by that. I usually never comment on KZbin videos but I always subscribe and show support to creators that I enjoy who make content for good entertainment. As a Canadian who lived basically my whole life in the GTA - and my family moved from India for a better life - I'm so hurt by the privilege you clearly have but lack to see. Growing up in Canada as the child of Indian immigrants, you really begin to appreciate the system & are so grateful that your family took the steps to leave their motherland. While studying full time in high school but especially university, you're meant to also be working part time. Doesn't even matter what the job is - could be a waiter, could be at a local Tim's, could be in retail. Doesn't have to be anything related to your career but the fact that it's the norm to work PT while being in university makes Canadians learn work ethic, hardship, and appreciation for the ground level labour. When you move on up, you can't really look down on the lower job positions because you know exactly how hard they work since you were also a part of that. But in the recent years with SO MANY Indians moving to Canada, and not having been exposed to this work ethic, are brining in their privilege to a society that doesn't operate the same way. How dare you even think it's ok to walk out of a business without paying for the service? That in itself shows the privilege... It's a service, but they're not your servants... Doesn't matter if you're a regular customer or not. The customer is not always right, such a backward way of thinking. Treat people like people. She doesn't need to understand you, although she did by letting you even go for an hour in the first place and tried contacting you to check in. You need to understand that small businesses are usually working crazy hard to survive and they cannot let business just go. Doesn't matter if it was $65 or $5! It's their business! My dad also owned a small business on Danforth for years so I know the struggle and I know how even regular customers can start up tabs that never close. Do you part and pay your dues, right away. You just lost a subscriber, dear

Great points, but unfortunately the points you are making are just a cover for what you're really trying to say which is, "Too many Indian immigrants pouring in without an understanding of the Canadian culture." There's obviously jealousy and the tendency to look down upon fellow desis, and secondly, the lack of understanding that it takes time to assimilate and understand a new culture. No doubt that Peekapoo is in the wrong here, but you're just another desi happily shi*ting on another desi with a condescending response.

@@zagcollins Hi Ayush, so this is the reason why I never comment on KZbin videos. Clearly people feel they have the freedom to say things behind a screen when in real life, face to face, we'd probably have a proper discussion or dialogue, & think about the choice of words before speaking. I understand what you mean, but instead of judging me based off of a single comment, how about we have a conversation and get to know our viewpoints before labelling each other as condescending and jealous, yea? Again, treating people AS people. I'm sure we're capable of giving all strangers basic respect. I thought I was pretty decent in my comment without letting my emotions get the best of me, and getting my point across with respect to the creator. As far as the points you raised, I don't have any jealousy towards any desi immigrant. It's a HUGE life changing decision to move countries and start from scratch in a completely different culture and socioeconomic environment. I've experienced it firsthand with my family as a child, and as an adult who currently lives in Brazil for the past 5 years. I know how long assimilation takes and all the challenges that come with it. Do I look down on people who are trying to build a life in a new country, a home away from their home? Absolutely not. If anything, I'm one of those people and only hope that locals can give me the space and time to integrate smoothly as well. But I'm pretty confident in understanding that Pooja from her attitude in this specific video isn't really being open-minded and even trying to assimilate from this situation. She's bringing up past experiences and how things work in India and expecting the same in a Canadian context - which, yes, it is being ignorant to her new cultural surroundings and people who LIVE IN THIS SYSTEM and not in another. I love India so incredibly much. I'm so grateful to have been born there even if I didn't get a chance to live my adult years there. I have so much respect for my background and the roots it's given me. I'm not another desi bashing another desi. I'm talking about this specific situation alone - and also hoping to point out the privilege that SOME desis may be having. And yes, we're allowed to make such statements WITHOUT looking down on entire cultures or people.

Whether it was intentional or not, she did run away. Infact, she ran away with the mentality that whether it's 1 hour or 3 hours, 1 day or the next day, it's all good since she's a regular customer. I don't know anyone in my friends circle from the GTA who would have that mentality. It's just not the way things work here. It's not about the cops actually coming or not. It's her attitude towards all this. Of course, this might be the norm from her environment in India but it's definitely not the norm for Canada (saying this with respect and not a demeanor of looking down on Indians 🙄🙄 --apparently I have to clarify that)

You have taken things too far! When you said how dare she walk out of a business without paying, did you miss the part where she was about to pay by card but the lady wanted cash, and usually in Canada since everything is paid by card people don’t really go around prepared with enough cash for day to day expenses? Things happen, people make mistakes, but nothing justifies snapping at people and jumping to conclusions like that! Tone of communication matters and that’s what determining how far you go! Please be more considerate.

Seriously, do you hear yourself …you think you were overacting…you are not only over reacting but behaving like a spoiled brat. If you are a regular customer, you should know if it’s cash that they take or not. And just because you were their regular customer they gave you the option pay the money afterwards. It doesn’t mean you can go shopping, have your lunch and watch tv and then casually say “ it was just few hrs.” Just grow up dear and take responsibility… we all understood you just wanted to portray yourself as a damsel in distress. @@sukhmanpreetsingh07 I see you repeating this reply on multiple comments. Pooja has been living in Canada for years now. What she did is basically leave without paying and it is punishable by law. Doesn't matter if it's $5, $65 or $1000. She also didn't have the decency to inform the person. Also this is not India and things don't need to be like India, maybe regular customers are treated differently back home, that may not be the case here. What she did is wrong and there are always consequences for such things. Being nice and respectful doesn't mean you have to be a pushover. The reality is that you asked her for an hour time to pay her cash. Then, you left to eat and do other stuff. Later, you forgot to withdraw cash from ATM, came back home, started packing, and made videos. If she had not phoned you and texted you. Then, you would have left for India without paying her. Simple because you forgot that you even have to pay her. Just admit your mistake rather than making excuses.

@Singh The lady could be an employee and can't keep letting everyone leave without paying. What would she tell her employer? Can you eat at a restaurant in India and tell them you will pay later in two or three days? That won't work unless the owner is your friend or family. FYI, the restaurant won't let you leave without paying (even in India). Why do you expect salons, barbers, etc, to let you leave without paying for their services. Can you leave a grocery store without paying? No, you can't (not in India unless it is your local kirana store).

@peekapoo The lack of empathy and maturity you showed in this video is disgusting. The lady did not call the police, she only threatened you as a last resort, since you chose to conveniently ignore her calls and text. Even if you were busy, as an adult have the maturity to understand that you could have put that lady in a tough spot, she might have to answer to her boss or whatever. Doesn't matter how much amount it is $65 or $5 or $1, YOU OWE HER that money and you should pay your DUES. Also your behaviour after realizing she was trying to reach you and was waiting for you should be apologetic, rather you chose to use your platform to defame a small business which was actually providing good service (as per your own comment in the start) when in fact you were WRONG. On top of it, you chose to publish this video and phrase it like you were the victim and monetized on bringing someone else down is absolutely disgusting.

Nevertheless, What if the Manicurist is juz an employee in the shop who is in the brink of loosing her salary for the day or her job juz bcoz she trusted u and let you pay at ur convenience for the service you took..?? Please show some empathy…! This isn’t a great attitude tbh. Respect ppl and their work.. Unsubscribing..!!

When you take any service you pay ! If you don’t have cash you go to atm takeout cash and pay! Maybe 65$ isn’t big deal for you but lady not everyone is born with silver spoon people are working hard, and you clearly forgot that you have to pay her and instead of this defaming the business you could have apologised for late payment and accepted your mistake.

I always like but rarely comment. I just got around to this video and was in utter disbelief. Regular or not, you pay for a service before leaving the establishment. If anything you should be grateful she gave you that much time before telling you she would call the cops. It’s not a matter of “just” $65. That is someone’s livelihood. I appreciate your being transparent in your video but moving forward the best advice I have is to just stop and look at it from the other persons perspective. In your conversation with her you probably mentioned you were going to India.. so of course she’s going to freak out that she may not get paid…

you should have gone back to that with woman with remorse and a genuine apology! Deep down i think the real reason you are not going back there, is that you feel ashamed and don´t want to admit it to yourself, so you blame her to deflect.

It's your fault. Such entitlement. You gave her all the reasons to call the police. And no she didn't lose a lot of customers but you have lost a lot of viewers. And yeah you are definitely overreacting.

The 60 dollars would have been a huge amount for the saloon lady if not for you, you missed many chances to pay her. Obviously it’s your fault and you tried to take their business down by holding a grudge which is not right.

Ohh no influencers also have to pay on time. I will be really interested in seeing you on the other side of the cheque. When you do your job and the person supposed to pay just forgot to pay for and after reminders also there is no response. #respect the person

No business in Canada can force you to pay cash. You obviously chose to pay cash to avoid taxes. I have been in the situation multiple times where nail salon would suggest paying via cash to avoid tax, and my first priority is to find the ATM and pay right away. If ATM is usually far, I make the payment with taxes to avoid hassle for both parties. Explain the situation correctly instead of focusing all your energy on defaming her business.

I’m almost sure your fans will turn on me for my comment but I have to say my thoughts. I can’t agree with you about the nail salon. Because you were a returning customer, you were given leeway to go get money from atm and return to pay bill. However, instead of returning immediately to pay your bill after receiving service, you did other things and allowed the time to pass without calling to say why or when you’d return. This is not how business is conducted in the west. You can’t expect to get service and pay when you want to. Unless this was a mutual agreement beforehand. Wouldn’t you be upset if you paid your cable bill and still unable to watch cable tv? Besides think of it this way, it’s quite possible other customers were given this same leeway and never returned to pay their bill. Once bitten twice shy. The business didn’t want to suffer another loss and the price for your nails would’ve been taken from her wages & that wouldn’t be fair to her. You are in the wrong and I do hope you apologized.

I think that‘s is just a rich girls problem. Sorry but you owe the money. So why not get the money right after the appointment and pay? It‘s a waste of time & gas to drive home just for Lunch and then back?

She definitely messed up in the hope that sharing this episode with her viewers was going to work in her favour in bringing in false sympathy. But all that backfired 😂 Basic rule - nobody owes you a nice attitude or etiquettes, especially a profit making business. The only thing this kind of business owes you is a job well done with your nails and maybe decent customer service that too contingent upon you pay them in full after you avail their services - which she failed to do. So if she evaluates the situation carefully, the business is nowhere at fault, just that her expectations are flawed 😂

I think it was an over reaction coz they had no other means to track her… right? They called… they waited but got no response. I guess they also might have got nervous. We never want to understand what other person is going through and the same was with the salon lady but the same was with pooja also here! Big peekapoo supporter but this was wrong on both parts

Even though the salon lady knows you, you could have got the payment sorted or taken permission from her that you would pay it by so and so time. What she had done is absolutely correct, she din't call the cops but threatened to call them if you fail to pay in an hour. Nobody is earning easy money. Lot of hardwork goes into every penny/cent a person earns. I like your content, but I feel constantly bragging about that lady in this video, with your fault, may downsize your followers. Have a great trip in India and stay safe 🙂

Probably she had a similar incident before where customer told her that they will pay but the customer did not pay. That is why she sent you that text, plus it was your responsibility to pay back on time (the time you committed). So yes you overreacted.

You should have been responsible enough to pay your dues in a timely fashion. Disappointed with your behaviour
