Thanks for the video Dani! Very sad to see the Trop go - such a landmark on the south end of the Strip. I made sure we took a good long last look at it when we there in September/23. I would have preferred if they completely renovated or put up a new hotel & casino . Not thrilled with it being replaced with a sports stadium. I saw the Folies Bergere on one of my earlier trips to Vegas. It was the first Vegas show I had ever seen and remains a fond memory of the Tropicana. A shame that they have allowed the property to deteriorate and not given her the proper send off she deserved. I hope they do something to preserve the stained glass ceiling. Cheers

I've only been to the Trop once, in 2007. I remember reading on the internet that it was on the "Las Vegas Death Watch" list, even back then. When I was there, it was in pretty bad shape. It appears that some work has been done since 2007. I'm a nostalgic guy, I like old buildings and old businesses. I hate to see the Trop close forever. My grandfather was friends with one of the original owners.... In fact, I think he was in business (in a different business) with one of the original owners of the Trop. My mom and dad traveled to las Vegas several times back in the late 60's - early 70's and they always had complimentary rooms at the Trop because of the connection between grandpa and one of the Trop owners. Also random but I remember watching videos when I was little and the Tropicana had just been renovated, and I won't lie, it doesn't look as old as the Riviera did when it got imploded (in my opinion at least) I really think the last renovation of the Trop they did was a solid one that held up well to the end ;w;

So sad to see the Trop go. I hope all the employees were able to land new jobs. The bungalow rooms at the Trop were special. They were part of the original 1957 hotel, and unlike the Flamingo, which demolished its original bungalow rooms during a renovation in the 1990s, they chose to incorporate them when they built the two towers. Also, I remember the pool area used to be among the best party scenes in all of Las Vegas! This was in the era before the advent of "day clubs".

Sad to see. I believe those bungalows were original, and the oldest rooms you could book on the strip. I feel like with upkeep, and a proper renovation (which was hinted at last year), this could have been an amazing retro property. But, its not downtown, so we wont see it happen. I think the A's thing will be a mess (and should stay in Oakland) but Vegas is all about fads. The current fad is sports and we're getting it whether we like it or not. I was ok with $100. Maybe up too $200 just for the sake of staying right before it closes. Anything over that was a pass for me. Especially since so much is closed. The pool closed is always a deal breaker for me.

The Tropicana was ok But it was time to go....I was there once back in the 90s The new Casinos are way nicer in every way...The Owners needed to utilize that valuable space... As Always Dani Killed in her Commentary I Just wish Dani was more prolific in her Content...🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

There are indeed better hotels but the charm of a vintage hotel is very unique and nostalgic. It had a great price so many people have many memories. Including myself! 😁😁😁 It's going to be weird when it's gone. Hopefully the stadium works out.
