A fundamental tip from Creative Writing 101: a "boring" character should not be boring to read. If Conway wanted to write vicariously about His depleting powers as He aged, he still needed to do it in an active and engaged/engaging story. Otherwise the story is the May-December fling the writer is having with the readers, who didn't sign on for it and might not want it. Although, hopefully, they all do have great tits.

@@SonofCapwolf Hmm, you hate Mantis because everybody loves her, but you like Moon Dragon who uses mind control to achieve the same end. You then go on to coin the niche catch phrase "Moon Dragoning' and advocate the r^^e of men by women. Hmm, does your critique of Mantis say more about yourself than it does about her?
