This movie may be old, but it still has an epicness to it, it feels like a tribute to one of those old school Beat-Em-Up games we loved so much whether it's Sega or Nintendo.
@gungriffen9 жыл бұрын
I miss beat em ups. The Warriors showed that the genre was still great if you added in counters, blocks, free roam 3rd person, environmental attacks and weapons. That game was satisfying when you blocked two punches and a kick countered a punch, pushed them against a window and delivered a high kick to temple forcing their head through the glass. That genre could still work if only they took fighting games and made them free roams.
@Symphonia309 жыл бұрын
Gungriffen The old Warriors movie also great that it represented old school beat-em-ups very well with it's setting, tone, and environment. I just wish that they make more beat-em-up now and days games or even more movies to represent it. Like the Double Dragon Neon game was good, but I felt it could have been better. Still it was a great throwback to the original.
@gungriffen9 жыл бұрын
+Symphonia30 Did you ever play The Warriors Video Game?
@Symphonia309 жыл бұрын
Gungriffen I played it at my cousins house once, and at first was skeptical about the whole 3d roam environment beat-em-up, because most games in the beat-em-up style didn't work well like Final Fight Streetwise, but then I actually enjoyed it. Just like the movie, it actually took advantage of the genre. They did their research.
@gungriffen9 жыл бұрын
+Symphonia30 A lot of what made it great was blocking and countering but on top of that was contextual environmental attacks. Kicking people through glass windows, hitting them with doors, grabbing their heads and raking them down a fence, throwing them against a dumpster, slamming their heads into mirrors, pushing someone back having them trip over a fence. Then being able to use next to everything that could be held in two hands as a weapon add in the co-op attacks trading punches and kicks on a target or holding or throwing them into a team mate to be taken down. That's what set that game apart and with third person view you were free to roam solo or run and grab a knife or bat and come back without being hindered to one screen. I wish they had made another.

Its most definitely a fucking RUSH!!!! to think, going forth into the unknown, with only your wits and fists about you, and the terrible realization of the very air feeling heavy and suffocating as you begin to come around the fact that your chances have become immediately slim, practically none, youre looking at certain death, and just before you accept your undeniable fate regardless if you go down swinging or not, AGAIN THE AIR CHANGES but this time with the rallying war cries of YOUR FUCKING COMRADES! Its YOUR boys that storm the field of battle and their hearts are on fire and you can feel your own morale swell immeasurably. And then you just give it everything you got,
