Last Epoch - Leveling Necromancer MINION ARMY for my Wraithlord.

I leveled Necromancer with Summon Skeletons, Bone Golem, Skeletal Mages, Summon Wraith, and tried various minions in Last Epoch 1.0.

Minions feel so much better in LE than either D4 or POE. As a minion enjoyer, I love the fact that I can play minions in 4 of the 5 base classes, with only mages being without minions. With Necro, there is a lot of build diversity that is just not seen in other ARPGs. All minion types are viable and fun to play. The minions in LE are not perfect when it comes to AI, but they look like geniuses when compared to POE and D4 minions.

I'm personally running a fire necro build with volatile zombies. They're very good especially if you take the mark for death node. I also happened to get a cycle of putrescence unique ring which revives a zombie 1 second after it dies. So i don't spend mana for zombies. Plus i took the node which spawns a skeleton vanguard everytime a zombie detonates -- my skeletal mages have the profane oblation node which is sustained again by the skeleton vanguards from volatile zombies I have a good mix of fire dmg and necrotic dmg. I'm thinking of removing basic skeletons and using the spec slot for something else.

one my favorite things in LE is finding uniques while leveling and change my build plans to fit this item and it still feels great and fun in the end

FYI levelling with zombies can be awesome. Use rip blood to restore mana, and spec into the node where zombies heal u for ward when they explode, also in the passives ward every time a minion dies or is summoned, very easy campaign clear

I have a level 85 pure summoner build with skeleton, golem, mage, wraith (permanent) and zombies and breeze through monoliths 5+ levels above my character. I took all the plus to summon nodes and gear I could find giving me 20 minions +6 zombies +3 volatile skellies. Mindless gameplay for this level but probably will not do well in higher end content but we'll see.

Using volatile zombies with fire minions is a very good build. That's mostly what I ran through the beta. The zombies can dish out crazy poison/fire stacks on monsters

I start with minion army and switch to Wraith lord later, while it indeed powerful, it boring for me for some reason (the buff management perhaps?). Now I'm switch back to minion army with fire attribute. Not as strong, but full auto minion army suit me more.

My first character was a summon necro. Didn't look anything up and still use rip blood with 4 aummon slots and it's been a blast. Level 70 now.

Love minions. I have a 77 Necro atm, Skeley Archers, Mages, Golem, Wraiths, Zombies, all fire spec at. Working pretty well.

Thank you for this comment! I want to use regular skeleys and I dont see any builds using them. Seeing you got to lvl 77 using them makes me feel better.

LE has nothing on Poe minions imo. Minion Survivability/mana cost of resummoning can be an issue in empowered. At least for playing a big army. I haven't tried wraithlord yet.

Ive played a very similar build but basicly full fire minions and im currently 95 or 96 ish and im starting to put together some endgame stuff and i gotta say from 1-> Emp monoliths (70-80 ish) it was litterally 1 shotting anything on screen and i could simply just run past mobs and stuff died. However once i entered Emp monliths stuff slowed down alittle, not to bad but survivability was abit iffy (still very very low on armor (900 ish) and no real ward to speak off) but ive managed to fix a workaround using the experimental affix on boots allowing minions to teleport with me when i Transplant making sure theres always minions next to me taking aggro from atleast some of the mobs. Im working towards getting survivability up but can't seem to find any particular way to push my HP to 2k+ or armor to 1200-1500+ so i can avoid 1 shots from certain stuff... not to speak off ward which seem impossible to get any substainal amount off currently. All in all so far 95 lvls in ive had a blast, simply yet VERY effective build (Stacking crit, minion spell dmg, minion fire dmg and + Wraith/skeletal mages/minions in general)

Especially once you hit empowered monoliths, pushing defenses is way more important than damage.

@@Tenkiei Absolutely but you still wanna kill stuff before u can get hit to many times tho so kill speed is incredibly important aswell i reckon. But yea currently my build is getting trough Emp monoliths pretty smooth with maybe 1 death per 30 echos or so but i can't kill Julra T3/4 consistently atm so looking to change my build to be able to actually upgrade my Uniques above 75.

Strange, my minions (except in boss fights) rarely go down...I also have the wraithlord-helmet, but I don't much like the wraithlord (oh it does good damage, no doubt!)

Boosting their base reneration in combine with leech makes them stupiddddd tanky. Theres a node in accolite for 25% health regen. Then a node in necro that give +14 flat regen. You get a 40% regen affix and theyre golden. If you go for to much max hp and no regen they die from dots too much. Max hp isnt as needed imo with the horde strat cuz the damage from single targets gets spread among the minions. So regen goes farther.

Idk about anyone else, but minions seem buggy. I can't summon Pyro mages after a bit of gaming even though I skilled into them, I don't think they are shooting extra projectiles, I have a +1 mage summon item that doesn't work....

I love minions in POE but minions in LE are TERRIBLE. They run around bugging out, not attacking and your only recourse is to run until it minion resolves itself. Imho there are only two minion builds that are viable. Wraith builds where they can't move, and volatile minions where they auto lock. As soon as they start following its a train wreck.

I haven't noticed much of this yet tbh, but I'm only level 89 so far. I have noticed however at the very spawn of each monolith if I try to dread shade off the bat or have a pack off the bat it is lil buggy/ slow/unresponsive.

I played falconer till 54 but parked it as the constant Scree, Scree bird noise was like a dripping tap. Then tried the minion necro and at present running full fire setup, I have volatile zombies as my spammable but boy oh boy are they obtuse. I really don't like running into packs of stuff dragging the gang along because the volatile idiots always spawn behind my massed flotsam. They then sort of realise they have a job to do and fight to find a gap in the massed ranks to engage and go bang. I will respec them out later and try something else to stay further away from all the aoe.

What are you on about? I have a level 60 necro and just started monoliths and my minions tear everything apart around me in a frenzy, quicker than I can run past them alot of the time. I have to keep stopping to check for loot/runes and glyphs. Exiled Mages and mini bosses and champions just get torn apart. I do make liberal use of the Target command which may be why...

I'm sorry but my minion build is cracking out dps and I have 3 flame golems without specing it on the tree my mages shred the shit put of any emey then my villy zombies blow everything up.I'm playing hc as well
