Since you don’t have to read the chapters in order, is there an order you would recommend reading them in?

Probably. The order they're in in the book

Maybe read Strike, Tralala, and The Queen Is Dead first because they’re the most famous sections and then if you enjoyed them, go for the others

Nicely done It's such a gruesome book. I've never bothered to watch the movie because I assumed it was equally gruesome.

@@beejls Thanks! The movie is actually more palatable

This movie makes requiem for a dream family drama, for me at least.

Some parts were really intense for sure. It kinda made more sense to me after I learned the director thought of the stories as biblical parables.

I never heard of this before but as I suggested the Island of Dr Moreau book vs movies I think put that on hold because Anthony Hopkins is having it made and remember I said about Sleepy Hollow, Moby Dick and H.G.Wells Time Machine?

Exactly because there has been too many actors that have played Dracula so it would probably take forever to do

Having read the book at the roughly the samre time the film came out, I would say that the film did a very good job of telling the story. As you rightly said the film had 2 hours and so couldn't fit in every character like Ole Honest Abe and his philandering ways with that "fine brown skinned gal" he saw in Mels last night or the housewives chorus which could have added some levity. But on the whole the film did try and stay true to the book. You forgot to mention that the book got banned in Britain and the publishers had to go to the courts to get it unbanned.
