I like your idea of using the kennels .. people in colder climates could cover the kennel with some 6mil plastic and make into a sturdy greenhouse.

I'm in So. Calif. too, Inland Empire. For nightime to early morning I just put burlap covers over my Emerald Giant Bell Peppers, Grey Zucchini and Boston Pickling Cucumbers as they're still doing well. The bell peppers are still producing and the other two still developing well. My Yellow Crookneck Squash a couple weeks ago said "I'm all done for now." My Waltham Butternut Squash gave me 6 very nice pieces and I learned about identifying and saving the viable seeds inside for the next season. My Parris Island Cos lettuce is still being harvested and my basil & oregano for now are doing well. It will get colder here but currently night to morning is 42°-46°F with an occasional 38°F .

You still have decent weather like here, as I have not turn on my heat blanket yet😂 My bell pepper plant on my deck is still going strong with a few peppers on it. You are doing great❤ take care thanks

That’s so crazy you’re growing all that stuff. I’m still growing sunflowers here in the central Valley of California. Although I’m sure the frost is going to kill them any day now. 🤣🤣🤣 Liz

You don't need to freeze thyme. You dry it. The easiest way is to cut clumps of branches and then just put them in coffee cups. Wait a few weeks to let them dry. Then just pull the little leaves off the little branches. Put them in little spice bottles or empty pill bottles or empty and washed ketchup containers from McDonald's, etc. There is no excuse for not saving and using. You can also dry it easily by putting branches on paper towels, then in the microwave for 45 sec to one minute, then pull the leaves off.

Hallo from Malaysia. Congratulations on your success germinating blanket flower seeds. Beautiful flower indeed! You make my day with this long video. Always gave me hope that i also can grow food whatsoever am living in the tropic. Only that sometimes the ocean wind is quite brutal.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year or Happy Hanukkah. Whatever you are. I’ve learned so much from you both. My gardens have really loved your suggestions. I’ve enjoyed eating my goodies. Can’t wait for Spring so I can grow more. Can you please tell me the best things to grow for green drinks? My space is limited unfortunately. Love you both!!! God Bless

I live in the low AZ desert and I could never get blanket flower to grow from seed either. Have no idea why? Planted it in a few different places. Next it will all be added to my other wildflower seeds and hopefully they will grow right along with all the other flowers. I am still trying to find a way to keep the birds from eating them all before I sow them!!!
@GardenHappyАй бұрын
Hey June do you think maybe the seeds need to be in the refrigerator first!? Maybe they need a stratification period. 🤔 Liz
@juneramirez858027 күн бұрын
I hope this comment from me isn't a repeat but there was an error and I think it got lost! Anyway, I will try that. Maybe I will try both, in the fridge and winter seeding! I was getting ready to throw them away! I will try to remember to let you know if it works!
