Thanks for the final video with a final look at the area where the bolt ball bearings lock in. Even though the chances are slim and this isnt the right channel for the idea I got from this it does make me wonder what the person pulling the trigger would look like if the lock failed ? Yes I know case by case
@Halfmilesniper2 жыл бұрын
I remembered that someone had inquired about the locking interface earlier and I was curious if I could see any wear or marks where the lock up takes place after 40 rounds. I will have to have my teammate bring the rifle now and then to keep tabs on the lock up interface. As tight as the locking balls lock in the out position, I would think it would require several to fail before the bolt failed. But, I would have to imagine the bolt would likely drive straight back into the shooters cheekbone...how deep would it go???
@JeRKII2 жыл бұрын
Ya know maybe I'm over thinking it. I bet it's like burning out a barrel. The person that is shooting 1000+ rounds a year will most likely be the one that would notice something but they are doing much more detailed inspections monthly ( or I would hope so ) but the ever day shooter who might shoot 20 rounds a years might never see any problems through 2 or 3 generations

Thanks for taking us along. I'm impressed with the Impulse especially for the price compared to other straight pulls. The muzzlebrake really did it's job. For you personally in the Impulse which caliber would you pick or calibers? Thanks. I bet you almost hate to return it. 😥 👍
@Halfmilesniper2 жыл бұрын
This straight pull definitely grew on me. Post brake install I would probably be very happy with the 300 Win Mag although a 6.5 Creedmoor would be pretty sweet too.

@@Halfmilesniper Or maybe 6.8 Western. Perhaps that great little cartridge from years ago 257 Roberts. Hope these next storms miss you guys. Got your hands full out there. 🙏 👍 🇺🇸 Hide your braces in Uncle Joe's garage cause it takes the government 15yrs to find anything there. 😂😂

@Bill Dye wonder if they'll chamber one in 6.5 PRC? It is raining pretty heavy here again, at least NorCal is getting a little break from the rain. Funny how there is such a double standard on full display isn't it? Conservative...throw everything at you they can...left or left leaning they'll throw every excuse as an explanation of how it's not bad. Hmmmm

Great video. Do you have a link to the brake you used. I just got my impulse big game in 300winmag and will probably use that one

On the Savage Impulse I installed the Precision Armament M4-72 Severe Duty Compensator. It can be found at precisionarmament.com/m4-72-severe-duty-compensator/ This muzzle device really tamed the 300 Win Mag recoil.

As inexpensive as they are nowadays I am surprised more don't have one, but then again, I never even thought about one until I watched Erik Cortina's video about them. I was immediatelt sold and now a huge proponent of using a borescope.

Any recommendations for a muzzle brake for my 450 BushMaster?
@Halfmilesniper2 жыл бұрын
I just checked...it appears Precision Armament makes a brake for the 450 Bushmaster. Precision Armament is the maker of the brake I installed on that 300 Win Mag. I am impressed by the Precision Armament brakes and I would also recommend their Accu-washer system. That'll make timing your brake easy. I showed how that system works in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXPTZIp7jtlkiNU
