I LOVE practical gifts, and I can't get my in laws to understand that lol. Every year, they ask what I want and I usually just say "if I can eat it, or experience it, that's all I need." I don't want more stuff to clutter up my home. Just food or an experience for me!

I gave 2 single men a towel, washcloth, and a bottle of body wash for Christmas last year. I gave them a tin of home baked cookies too. Everyone showers/bathes and eats, so it's a gift anyone can use!! Merry Christmas!!

I literally just came back from Wally, lol! I felt so defeated because everything was so pricey due to inflation, and I couldn't think of what to put in the stockings. I love that y'all did this, such a great idea! My momma-in-law always sends me dish towels, potholders, spatulas, etc. And the blankets are such a great idea because they are priced just right this time of year, and you can recycle your old blankets by donating them to your local SPCA 😃🐶🐈❤ Merry Christmas, sweet girls!

Those pre packed gifts are good to buy on sale after the holiday. You don’t have to keep the kits together. They are great to break up and put in gift basket for a friend.

A nice big rain gauge. The big ones you can read from a distance are ~ $15. Also, a good outdoor thermometer. A good flashlight with batteries. A big one is great, but so is a small, purse sized one! There are plenty of good things at the dollar store, but the quality might not be good. BE SELECTIVE! They are in business to make a profit, and you do NOT always get a good deal. It depends! Walmart also has some medium sized mesh washing bags for small items that might get lost in the wash or SOME bras, ladies. Dollar store has them too, but they often don't hold up. The ones at Walmart are $3-$5 ish.

If it's ok, I'll share a great inexpensive "family" gift I have done, The dollar tree is perfect for these, I went to the local pizza place, got a couple BOXES ( I paid .50 cent per box) then went to dollar tree, got a pizza pan, a pizza cutter, a dish towel and pot holder, put the pan, cutter, towel and holder INSIDE the pizza box wrapped it up and it was a really neat gift for under 5 dollars for the family. Others took the idea and gifted them the following year. I have included a movie or game, the family for under 10.00 .. I have done the popcorn boxes from dollar tree, a couple packs of microwave popcorn, a good family movie and that's another family gift. I've done the same with cake pans, the cake mix, icing, sprinkles, or muffin pans with a variety of different just add water mixes with a dish towel and pot holder, one of my favorites was a good cookbook (TIPPER HAS ONE friends that would be great😁) or hand write some recipes on some cards, tie them together, put with with a dish towel, pot holder. You get the idea. The main reason I choose these things is, true, it's not expensive, but thoughtful but USEFUL! They are things the entire family can do together, and then share in the goodness together as well as used over and over. Nothing like making a pizza with your kiddos then watching a great Christian movie together. Or popcorn and hot chocolate maybe apple cider all can be purchased at Dollar tree, and the family sit together eat popcorn, and watch a movie or play a game together. Uno is a ton of fun and a few dollars The togetherness, laughter, time with each other, That is after all a PRICELESS gift. Hope it was ok to share! Had to edit and add, GREAT one for especially a guy, Dollar atree has Armor all brand, grab wipes, tires, dash, window cleaners, a shammie and wash mit, get a little bucket and make a guy happy for days to come, for 5 or 6 dollars and your car looks good too😁 Merry Christmas to you all Katie and Corie, May God bless you gals beyond your greatest imaginations, Keep HIS Hands upon you and continue to open doors for you. When I first got married. Did not know my MIL well. Looked into her bath area and noticed her preferred shampoo. Got that for her. Kitchen towels are always a good gift. I like to get my family food gifts but something new. New lentil chips or Asian snack foods.

You can find Christmas gifts in places that nobody thinks to go to, to look for a Christmas gift. A lady I subscribed to in California found a five foot tall, life-size Santa clause in a CVS drugstore a few years back. Y’all really gave some good suggestions. I enjoyed this, as usual. I appreciated those ideas so much. Particularly like to pick up little things that I know everybody likes to get (chocolate), but most hate spending the money for 'em on themselves. I know when I was younger and money was really tight, when I'd get such a gift (e.g. a basic eyeshadow palette) I was delighted. I often send my niece/nephews some of those (what I view as) fancier granola bars. That way they can try 'em out and mom/dad didn't drop the $ for the try-out. THIS WAS FUN. Thanks for the gift ideas! I have never though about giving foods, but it makes sense for people who are more practical. One Christmas I gave all of my grands (6 of them) and my children and their spouses sets of sheets. I think that was the most appreciated gift of all! I got the children themed sets and added a stuffed animal or character that matched their theme. I also give new sets of towels every few years too. Those may not be the most fun to open, but they are always a big hit. Merry Christmas, girls!
