Zombies are fended off whenever heroes roll higher than they do, and are killed whenever the heroes roll higher AND roll doubles. So a hero roll of 6,1,1 vs. a zombie 5,5 would kill the zombie, whereas 6,1,2 would just fend him off.

How are the heroes supposed to win this scenario? 15 kills needed when anything but doubles and certain weapons only FENDS OFF zombies? And the zombies only need two kills AND win after 15 turns? Doesn't seem remotely fair, but maybe that's the point. Is it a zombie handicap campaign?

I own the game. While it's true that this scenario seems to be heavily in favor of the zombie player, there are plenty of weapons and event cards that give the heroes more than a fighting chance. A shotgun for example, could kill every zombie on one spot, and there's an event card that kills any zombie you fend off. Etc. The difficulty of this particular scenario adds to the thematic feel of the game; in an actual zombie apocalypse, one would assume the zombies would be at a major advantage.

Every one mad about how hard it is to win as the heroes, that's where guns come in, giving you a 50/50 chance of killing each target.
