Just wanted to say thanks for all your helpful tips over the years. I have the same loom and have learned so much about it from you.

Thanks for this. especially the tip on silicon lubricant. I do love to spray stuff with silicon spray! As a novice weaver, I can't emphasise too much how useful it is just to watch an experienced weaver weave. It encourages me by showing me what I'm doing is right and teaches me the best process.

I'm trying to make actual fabric this time like Sarah Howard says to sew with. Fingers crossed.

Thank you so much for sharing. A while back I was gifted a floor loom, however it looks so intimidating that I have not attempted to use it. I do have a small cricket loom that I am trying to get over my fear with, so hopefully soon I will try and learn how to work with the floor loom. I love your projects. You are very inspiring.

Just pick a small project, only a yard or two of warp, maybe only a foot or so wide, and thread as if for twill, 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 etc. Then just play with it. Try doing plain weave, then try a twill, dont worry about mistakes (only God is perfect - you can make mistakes), learn to feel comfortable with the loom, experiment, and enjoy.

Love your videos! Thank you for making them. It seems like your technique for throwing the shuttle and managing the weft angle has evolved. Perhaps in a future video you could demonstrate your current technique in detail showing the resulting selvages?
@curmudgeon6610 ай бұрын
Yes my technique has evolved. I'm doing it much more now the way Jane Stafford suggests in her learning to weave on line courses.

Now that I'm done gutting our master bathroom and putting it back together, I need to get back to my looms. I have 12 Tartans in the queue. I almost need a loom-a-long buddy to keep be going this time of year. It's dark, and cold (highs of 0F, and I just want to sleep.) But instead I shall order my next brace of wool threads. What kind of towels are you thinking about?
