You should always save your chicken broth. You could have used it in the chicken instead of the water. Additionally you could have used the extra broth to thin the canned refried beans.

Hello Bryant and Leslie! I had my bunion surgery last Friday. All went well. I have a 2 p.m. appointment today with Dr. Caldwell (my foot surgeon) to remove the dressing and see how it is healing. My surgery was at 1:30 last Friday. At 12 they gave me e me a block in my right lower leg. I had two shots of numbing medicine that was to last for up to 18 hours. They said I could still walk on it even though I wouldn’t be able to feel my lower leg and foot. Gotta tell you, that was the strangest feeling. Of course, I haven’t done a lot of walking since I’m supposed to keep my foot elevated. My husband has been so attentive. He makes sure I keep it elevated and iced. He’s been cooking our meals. We only eat 1 to 2 meals a day. So not much cooking is going on. God has blessed me with the most wonderful husband! Thank you both for praying for me. My pain has been manageable with Tylenol and Ibuprofen. The doctor did give me Hydromorphone for pain. But I haven’t been taking that much. It makes me sick to my stomach and a little itchy. So I guess I’m kind of allergic to that one too. I think I am allergic to the block they gave me too. When I woke up it was like I had gotten an instant cold. My nose ran for two days until it finally left my system. So again, I appreciate you both so much! You are such a wonderful blessing to me. God bless you as you continue to serve the King of Kings. Tip for putting refried beans on a tray of nachos. Put the heated beans into a ziploc bag and cut the corner off then squeeze them all over. That way there is no large clumps and each chip gets some.
