(No Nut Butter) Chewy Granola Bars
-9 Tablespoons butter
-7 Tablespoons honey
-6 Tablespoons sugar
-4 teaspoons molasses
-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Combine the above ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil for a solid minute.
-3 ½ cups rolled oats
-1 ½ cups cereal of choice
-½ teaspoon salt
Mix these dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Pour the sauce over the dry ingredients and stir thoroughly. Pour the mixture into a 9x13 pan and press down firmly with a piece of parchment paper. Cool the bars, then pour melted chocolate over the top and chill again before cutting. These bars need to be refrigerated or they will fall apart.
Note: If you would like these bars to be even chewier, you can blend a third of the oats in a coffee grinder. This helps the bars stick together even better.

We want to share our passion for efficient, sustainable homesteading that brings the family together. On our homestead we do chemical-free gardening, grass-fed milk and beef, pastured eggs and broiler chickens, and free range children :) We love to go on adventures as a family, so if we're not workin on the farm, we're probably hiking or out getting ice cream. We're all into DIY, and being inventive and creative. We believe in homesteading that's sustainable, not just sustainable homesteading. In other words, we want to show you that homesteading doesn't have to wear you out to the point that you give it up. We've seen it happen, and almost came to that point ourselves. For boiled eggs, use your instant pot! I use the 5/5/5 method (5 minutes on manual, 5 minutes natural pressure release, then release the rest and 5 minutes in an ice bath). The shells never stick when I do them in the instant pot like this!

I made a huge pot of soup once a week, even in the summer! and it’s my go to for lunch (we homeschool , so I’m also feeding 6 people 3 meals a day😳) or a night where I am exhausted. It’s nutritious and easy❤❤

I just put my 11 gardens to bed for the winter. I will be spreading my compost in November, then plant my garlic the middle of November. I love watching your channel, and I know living here in SE Michigan, these next 6 months are the slow times for me, looking out at my barren gardens, but I know I can always go back to watching your garden videos in the winter.

I absolutely love that grey and green chopping device. Best tool ever. I buy in season what I can’t grow enough of, like peppers and onions and chop huge bags of them up with that thing and freeze them for the winter. 😊 Your tortillas are so perfect. Mine are all crazy looking, but I love them anyway. I freeze those too.❤❤. Thanks for another great video.

I feel the same way about cooking as you do. I was also the tom boy that ran away from all things housework. I would have rather cleaned the barn! But, now I have a family to feed, and it is my least favorite activity, but it gets done because my family deserves a good home cooked meal.❤❤

I want to tell you both that you both make a very good KZbin content and I especially like what she is doing in the kitchen and in her garden but both of you. I like and love how you both do your videos. It make me very happy when I see the both of you on video and you put out a video. But I want to tell her that I have to commend you and how you know how to do scratch cooking very well for your family and what they like now. You have done a very good job in the short of time. I've watched your videos that she had learned very well how to cook from scratch very well and that make me very happy to see a woman like your statured that has learned how to cook from scratch and doesn't go to the store and have to buy crappy food that has all the preservatives and additive in the food. That is not good for your body especially lately food coloring that is not good for your body as well. This is why when I see a good woman that knows how to cook from scratch, I want to really tell them because I want you to know that I'm learning how to cook from scratch as well because I don't like all the additive and Prince Edward tips in the food in the grocery store as well. Now I'm getting ready to watch your new video. I hope the both of you and your family. Your kids have a good week and God bless you both and your family as well ❗❗❗ and the One that gave you the comment. His name is Mark.

Thank you 2 for an outstanding video that you made for today, I like what she does in the kitchen inner meal prep from scratch. Again, thank you both for making such a outstanding KZbin video. This is why I give certain KZbin channels the good and outstanding comments that I give you guys when I see you. Very good KZbinr and the channel that I really do like. Again, congratulations on how you know how to cook from scratch for your family and your husband.

I dunno I live in Texas. An Ohio transplant actually from Springfield. I moved to Texas in 1982. In Texas a tortilla press is used for corn tortillas and flour tortillas are rolled out. So don't pay any attention to the trolls you are doing it just right. Besides your kitchen your rules. anyone not happy can go by the rule their kitchen their rules

I grew up on a farm was always outside but I also loved taking care of inside things. Why would you resent your kids for coming to you, their mother for care? It thrilled me to be the one that she ran to for even basic things like eating. On days I was busy I planned the night before and made things like juice, fruits and veggies cut up and put in Tupperware in the fridge so she could grab whatever she wanted.

Make ahead breakfast burritos or breakfast sandwiches and freeze them or keep in the fridge so you don’t have to cook every morning. Buy some lunchmeat so your kids can make their own sandwiches. There’s has to be some give and take to make your life easier if you don’t like cooking.

I get it. I do not like cooking either. I do cooking on the weekends. I make 5 meals for dinner m-f but here’s the secret. I make twice as much and put half in the freezer labeled. The next week I make totally different stuff and again half goes in the freezer. Half gets eaten for dinners during the week. That next weekend food from the first week comes out of the freezer and goes into the fridge and so on. Basically I work it out so I cook three times a month for dinners. Lunches are sandwiches, oatmeal or pizza that I make with leftovers as toppings. I just use my sourdough starter as crust. Breakfast is fend for yourself except on weekends when I do pancakes or eggs or really whatever DD and DH want. It’s a lot less stressful because I’m not constantly in the kitchen. I also at some point make a pot of hard boiled eggs and leave them in the fridge for snacks. Everyone has their favorite items like apples, banana, grapes, granola. We just keep those stocked.

In the last comment I made, this is to give you something more about that video that I wanted to say who I was referring to. That as good as you knowing how to scratch cook the other two KZbinrs that know how to cook very well and outstanding like you or Meg from the holler homestead and the other one. That is very good and knows how to cook from scratch. Is Chelsea from Little mountain ranch out there like you? And I don't think they've come across any other KZbinrs channels that really know how to scratch cook as well as you three that I have come across on my time watching KZbin channel now.

Congratulations! I'm very proud of you for making tortilla shells from scratch. I thought you bought them organically tortilla shells. If I see in the video that you make Frito shells or tortilla shells from scratch. I'm very proud of you for doing that. I didn't really know that you did a lot of your stuff for you and your husband and your kids things from scratch. I'm learning very well. How you feed your family? I guess you really don't like all the perturbatives and additives in the store-bought food then do you now?❗❗❗

I always laugh when people give recipes and act like a potato or apple turning brown is a catastrophic event. I'm not worried about either of them browning. I'm not going to put lemon juice on fruit, especially if it's cooked because it darkens anyway and imo raw fruit getting brown usually tastes sweeter
