When I was little, my mom's favorite cookies were pecan sandies. But I couldn't remember the name so I accidently called them "Sandy Patty's" (she was played a lot in our house) and from then on, my mom would always giggle and call them Sandy Patties.

You can hold the egg under warm water to make it room temperature. This trick also helps all the egg come out of the shell better.

Those cookies look so good-a must try. If you like pecan sandies you should the Taste of Home's Brown Sugar Shortbreads & add pecans to them. They are almost an exact duplicate. I'm very tempted to try this brown butter icing on those too, yummy!

When ever I need room temperature eggs, I fill a container with hot tap water and let the eggs sit for a 10- 15 minutes.

What happens if the egg is cold and not room temp for these cookies???? Yes you will need to tell us what your picks are...I know the chocolate chips and not sure on others.... I know there was a peanut butter and the candy cane pieces on the cookie... Looks very nice it's looks pretty on you with the burgundy shirt... I’m completely bewildered at what you call sugar cookies. Amish and Mennonite and Penn Dutch call them sand tarts - cut out cookies. Sugar cookies to us are more like a small cake cookie, dropped and not cut out. I’ve never heard of this style sugar cookie before.
