Most would have given up when the car broke in half, way to persevere through it and build an awesome '57 hot rod. Thanks for proving that it's still possible to build old cars on a budget if you're willing to put in some hard work.

@@donaldhalls2189 I'm not done with my 68 two door Bel-Air yet it doesn't need a floor, just lower rear quarter panels. Other then that it's a good solid car! I'm going to rebuild a 327 for it I have a 350 turbo transmission in it already. All the best to you also!

Dan, I gotta say I was completely disinterested in this one due to not liking the the 4 door hardtop platform or ever owning a convertible. When you took the roof off before doing the floor and then I saw the car fold, I thought the project was toast! The hours put in, having Mur there to help along the way for help/sounding wall/moral support and the final finished project makes this one a new favorite of mine! You never gave up, even with all of the negative comments, you got the final word with a great fun project without breaking the bank! Congrats on getting it done and I hope you both enjoy the hell out of it this summer!

WOW, WOW, WOW! I watch this car being built from the day you bought it. I forgot how 99% of people would have never imagined what you saw in it let alone have what it takes to take on a project like this. I also thought that you are really doing it with what most people have in their garages, no fancy shops with thousands of dollars of high end tools. just very, very impressive. I hope you realize you are also inspiring a lot of people, especially me, to continue their project or to at least try to tackle something that they have always wanted to have but couldn't afford it. for only $6000 to have a car to be proud of is purely inspirational. cant wait for the Black Widow and the Nomad. you should be very proud of what you've done.

Dan, she is gorgeous, a fabulous cruiser in ROUGE! The new glass really sets her off and the way it went in really surprised me too. Well done Dan and Dani. Scott of CWM is really pleased to have helped a little bit too! He’s just about finished his 1960 Plymouth Fury, I’m sure you’ve been watching that build, what a fabulous resurrection the Fury is too. I’d missed the episode when the Chev broke in half! God what a horror… but at least she had a solid frame to take the strain. What a success Dan, really.

I must confess , when you brought it home & said what you wanted to do to it , I was like "ok" . I had seen you do a couple whole floor replacements , & a couple 4 to 2 door conversions . So this was going to be all of that , plus a hard top to convertible conversion . I was ok with all of this , until you started cutting off the roof , first . There are all kinds of problems with this approach , as you found out , the hard way . I felt for ya , Dan . It was hard , ugly , frustrating , & a true test of grit & determination . But you got through it all , with a car that came out looking great , as well as being solid . I'm still not sure if it would have been easier to replace the floor first , or do the 4 to 2 door conversion first . But part of me understood your logic when you said you wanted to cut the top off to put the floor in from the top . Hard lessons learned . If nothing else , you proved that mistakes can be made , & overcome . The only car harder than this one was the Nomad . But having learned on the "vert" , I think the Nomad went smoother . You are a hard working man , Dan !
